MTD motors. No power. Anyone ever uses

I've had a bunch of MTD stuff If I recall they all had Briggs or Tecumseh engines. Does/had they actually made their own? The snowblowers I had used pulley's right off the engine, no engine mounted gearbox Is that the case here?

    Need help with charging system

Don't know your setup personally. If the engine came from the factory with a battery electric start, they usually equip it with a charging system capable of keeping a battery charged, usually. Did all those parts mentioned come with that engine? Or did the RR in particular come with the chassis...

    Polaris 6x6 Monstrosity

A nephew has one of those, he loves it. That thing is full of drive chains and sprockets everywhere, just hope you don't have to replace them.

    Commercial kart and wet clutch

The basket must have some sort of bearing for the clutch center to spin in, correct? If the pressure plate does have teeth then it should be expected that it should sit on the clutch center splines, correct?

    Commercial kart and wet clutch

So looking at your photos I see that the clutch center is on the engine side and the basket is on the wheel side. Going by the diagram on page 1: 1. What sort of bearing setup does the basket have for the clutch center to spin in? 2. The pressure plate assy looks like it has spline teeth so it...

    Brake problem

Those caliper setups have some pretty small diameter passages. I had a air operated vacuum bleeder that was pretty hardcore. The cart I bought had a 6' hose to rear caliper and was bone dry at the bleeder. The bleeder could not get fluid to show after several minutes of constant vacuum. I...

Used wrong two stroke oil help

Yeah, plugged exhausts are a thing. Part of my off season small engine prep was to stuff a wad of steel wool into the exhausts to keep the varmints at bay. Even the 2 strokes with tiny exhaust outlets attracted mud daubers. One filled up the outer portion of the muffler which cleaned up easy...

Pulse pump on a dirt bike engine

A accelerator pump is a whole different animal. It just gives a squirt when the throttle is opened and gets that fuel from the bowl. The bowl still needs to be filled, either by gravity or a fuel pump.

Pulse pump on a dirt bike engine

I would think 4 stroke crankcase pressures would be reliant on how "open" the crankcase venting is. Small passages and restrictions would allow some pressure to build up. Big ol wide open crankcase breathing would reduce pressure to nearly nothing.

    Daisy chain torque converters

Can appreciate the bar stool theory. I doubt that any answers will appear from anything other than trying it. Probably the first thing to check is if the engine has anything to give beyond the single CVT system. I would setup a low final gearing after the CVT to match easy starts. Then measure...

DF200GKA No spark, new stator and cdi are good

The folks on scooter forums that cover these things a lot often complain of replacement parts that are junk. Might have to review that possibility with your new parts. Your first post pointed towards the coil/sparkplug connection Try metering your coil meter resistance between the sparkplug...

DF200GKA No spark, new stator and cdi are good

You still haven't mentioned if you have traced wires and figured out whether you have a AC or DC ignition. And even if the stator has a AC ignition power coil, it doesn't necessarily mean the machine is using it. The stator's AC ignition power coil wire could be unconnected, and a DC ignition is...

DF200GKA No spark, new stator and cdi are good

Typically CDI's use AC circuitry. A DC CDI will use a inverter circuit inside the CDI to make AC. Magneto's make AC. AC ignition: should be a oddball, maybe two paper wrapped poles on the stator. That is AC ignition ignition power coil DC ignition gets power from battery You have to trace...

DF200GKA No spark, new stator and cdi are good

Looks like a GY6 style 150cc? Early ones had AC ignition, later ones a DC ignition. Have to figure that out. Assume your talking about no spark but starter turns the engine over ok? Some had a kill on electric box I had issues with rain water getting into the back of the ignition switch Check...

American Sportworks Trail Wagon 200 - NO SPARK

Two things come to mind 1. The ignition switch (mentioned earlier) It can be tricky to test with a meter. On mine the back of the switch was corroded from water The ignition circuit was ok in the on position but bad in the start position 2. The main fuse is a glass cartridge located in the...

Front suspension only for off road?

Sure it is. I had a suzuki 4 wheeler ATV that had front suspension with a hardtail. It had the doughnut tires on the back. The tires added some "suspension" but could send one into a nose down launch if the speed and bumps were just right. Might be a help to search ATV junkyards and use the...

    Cheap sled stuff

That's what they make tomato juice cans for. Cut out a patch and goop it up with hi temp gasket sealer and let it cure fully Can use clamps and even tack it with a low power wire feed. But that gasket sealer with hold it fine by itself

    Torque converter on Predator 420cc

A couple things: 1. The driven movable sheave is on the wrong sides of the ramps Should always twist against the belt on upshifting (opening) Should always go with the belt on downshifting (closing) 2. The spring looks right but would be wrong if the fixed is positioned properly All that changes...
