    60V 2KW off-road buggy

the 22ah AGM are probably your best choice if wanting to stay cheap. Best would be the lipo, hoverboard refurb batteries or leaf cells. Or if you can find them cheap enough cordless powertool batteries. What motor and controller combo are you running? Edit: Read it in the title. :)

    Electric Mobility Scooter - ETV

Project is looking great! What size chain are you planning on running? If going with the smaller 25mm you can get as small as a 10T sprocket off ebay that will fit the motor. (stock that motor comes with 13T) I would also run the brake switches hooked up. You can use razor mx500/650 hand...

First run results (48V 1800W on a large kart)

Check out the refurbished hover board batteries. Razor crowed is having great luck using them on the 1800w motors and they are cheap. (really cheap with a 15-20% off ebay coupon) The lipo have 20-50% more usable aH over sla. So you would probably only need 30aH of lipo to = 60ah of SLA. And...

Very cool! For the braking you can set it up to do motor breaking like how a powerwheel ride on toy works with SPDT relay (single throw double pole)

Cool 2008 article from Mythbusters about converting a race kart to gas.

Have any experience with 2strokes outside of your weed eater? Weight to power ratio is hard to beat. And when/if it does blow up it is much cheaper and easier to rebuild. Only thing is with something like a cr250 or banshee 350 you are either going full bore balls to the wall or lugging...

Gas / Electric Swappable Power Module Kart

What you are going to want is a heavy duty 24-60v 1hp+ motor, 200-500+ amp controller and enough battery juice to run it(can handle 200+ amps for more then a few seconds). The power to price ratio of this cant be beat. ebay will hopefully be coming out with holiday 10-20% coupons in the next...

    1600rpm 1.6 hp 24Vdc 57A Baldor

That motor is a beast. Run her at 36v and she will have no problem moving that kart with 2 people in it. Get a 190amp + controller for it.(40$ on ebay) If it gets hot change the gearing. You hit the nail on the head here.

Wow! Great to see prices coming down though! How about 300$ shipped. mine also includes the diodes and pain in the arse of figuring out the wiring. This was the price some years back when I bought it. https://www.kellycontrollers.eu/kdz48400

Converting 36v Kuberg kids dirt bike to lithium batteries

I have had great luck running R/C lipo batteries. Can be had cheap if you watch for sales. So far we are using them in multiple electric motorcycles, gokarts and powerwheels. But read up on the safety concerns and best practices before using them.
