By heat, red hot and quenching worked well for me. Red then cold water, not worth it if the wheel's already messed up or the axle is roached. Made that mistake.

A stroker is when you increase the "stroke" of the engine, so you would need to change the distance the piston moves, aka a different crankshaft to increase the amount of travel. Any additional power you are seeing is because you have a smaller head on a larger engine.

It looks like there is a good bit around the cover over the flywheel and mag. Would be a good idea to clean that off too. No airflow means no cooling.
