To be fair none of this is custom. This is what Murray explorers had it would seem. I did check beforehand and the belt size is fine as my engine mounts can move like a inch. I used the chart.

Ummmmm… How much is pretty cheap? Edit: for a rare 3/4” jackshaft. I mean a CVT is the stock option… I already blew so much money ~$125 on a $50 upgrade… 😅

Listen that sounds nice, but I was really excited to get cracking and ordered the CVT for jackshaft like 2 days ago. Between shipping and price of a kit with plate I would only save like 20 bucks and this option is easier/more stock.

    Not sure it is wrong…

No I knew what it is, I want to upgrade!

It is a Murray explorer, it does have a live axle, I don’t know about a welded sprocket. To be honest, I already talked it over with my dad and brought the GPS one. It comes with a belt and the 3/4” driven. The prices almost equal out from Amazon. It would probably be a slight bit less if I do...

Nah man I wish. My Amazon one was just the pulleys and a belt.

I’ll send a pic, but that seems way more expensive than the kit. I can get a refund on the Amazon CVT.

I really hope that was a joke! Otherwise, your geography is interesting…

Yeah but I meant driven. I have a 3/4 jackshaft. I am in Pennsylvania.

Quite frankly it really does, thanks! I plan to at this point. Hopefully one from a legit shop just like comes with it. For a $100 kit I sure as hell hope so. It does supposedly also have a legit comet belt in the kit. Edit: I figured out how to do multiple replies in one! Also, I...

Well when the box says “quality tools, half price” from Amazon, is it really a golden standard? I’m just gonna bite the bullet and go to Go Power. Almost nobody sells a 3/4” bore driven. They do have a return policy though.

What makes the special one special? The other general consensus is no, but does that change since my engine has a short shaft? I still get the sleeve on.

So like for sake of cheapskateness do I need it? The cover sits in the sleeve all the way but the sleeve doesn’t sit all the way on the shaft. Could I diy the special bit? Are they expensive? Theoretically I shouldn’t need it but that depends on tolerances. Would a normal steel washer on the end...

Would that create an issue if the cvt’s sleeve is already hanging off my shaft? Would I need the fancy washer? I am tempted to just go to GPS and measure 37 times to be safe.

Also, if my CVT does not slide all the way onto the shaft like I mentioned, do I need the special fancy shmansy washer to make it all work? The sleeve that the drive slides on is still on the shaft, but not all the way.

The part I forgot to mention is that the jackshaft is the 3/4. The crank I had the right 3/4 drive for. They are a major pain to find on a budget. I’m almost tempted to move the driven sprocket and just use a mount plate with sprocket kit and circumnavigate the jackshaft.

Guess who ordered the wrong size parts! :censored: it was a 3/4 driven bore. Either way, is it a problem of the sleeve of the CVT sits a little distance off the shaft? It looks like it does in the manual. By sleeve I mean the doohickey that has the outer bit slide on. P.S., any advice for...
