Yup... At the motor shop we had a growler bearing heater so that went better... but at the machine shop we had the old hot plate.... Alot more sketchier with the hot plate... Growler was nice to have... Ironically enough....SKF makes a hotplate for heating a bearing...

It can be heated on by using a hot plate.... I know it sounds off... Believe it or not... Ive put large bearings on for large electric motors with this method. Heat the bearing till a light sprinkle water skittles about on the surface, Kinda like on a frying pan when you know its hot...

Oh we get it.. Hence the DIY in the name.... But ya..one of the few dont-cheap-out-on things we typically stress on about here...

Hello and welcome... Please post some info on what is it you are trying to build, and post a pic or link as to the wheels... Alot of the HF wheels are not meant for this or any motorized application, typically they are crap to use..

Is this for an alcohol fuel???? I reckon they take a special type of oil... and it doesnt like gasoline if thats what as put in there later???

What is the motor you are using??

The recoiling pull start is shown above...Is that not a current picture of it??? or do you use a separate racing electric starter???

Check the recoil... Pull the plug out, and see if that is a problem.. Is there a decompression release on this type of engine???

You need to post alot more information about what this is for.. engine type, machine, ect...

I'm a proponent of doing a proper plug test.. Since the road is long an able to hit a high speed for the engine.. Do one at as highest it can ... shut off and brake safely to a stop, hop out and check the plug while hot.. see what the colours are... That will be the best check off hand to...

I went a bought another set of the light as they were on sale, Im not sure what maybe Ill rig some up as an interior lights or I was thinking some wheel well lights, I case I break down in the night, makes it easier to change tires with direct lighting..

Its a stepped axle, it might have been that way as to fit a new wheel the PO had bought.

Yes they would.. but to the benefit of allowing to act as a governor, short of the threshold of the con-rod letting go...
