DIY build off winner 2014 return & update.

Yep. I don't know if the buy/sell subforum was here when you were active in 2014 but it's here now. https://www.diygokarts.com/community/forums/for-sale-or-trade.17/

DIY build off winner 2014 return & update.

Welcome back! Online discussion forums can be a little rough and I would say there was a bit of a rough tone here in times past, plus a healthy dose of ball busting and abject sarcasm. Agreed about the engine advice, we've had some real pros here over the years and I try to bookmark all those...

    1960/61 Rupp Kart?

If you can help thenetters21 with reassembling his Dart Kart (I believe he has all original hardware, nuts and bolts) please do, I would love to see your input. Otherwise, sharing your own photos of a slightly different kart is a mild hijack with a little dash of vanity. 😇

    Cable brake questions

Photo #1: The brake lever is meant to accommodate a much larger cable/cable sheath. You could look for a larger one but I have seen all kinds of wobble on production bikes, minibikes, etc... Some of the sloppiness will go away when the brake cable is attached to the other end and you take up...

    Is this a good ratio?

Couldn't resist helping identify this old kart from this old dead thread. Side-view photos are king and since none were provided, I am fairly convinced it might be a Ken-Bar Sand Dog model SD-8E (black only) or model SD-9E (red only). The OP's kart looks repainted but cannot tell for certain...

Go kart sprocket too close to ground

That's the axle sprocket he originally had. We've been going around in circles for a while and have come full circle. 😊 Of course with the calculator I provided in post #22, you can mess around with gear ratios for sprockets that you do not even own to get the top speed for those gears...

He might be in the lowest part of Tennessee, in the west "at sea level" by the Mississippi River (Lake County). Bet it looks mighty flat out'a that way.... Interesting foray into geography I say. 🤓

Rare Kart! (FOUND) K-C King Kobra!

Thanks. Love the intact dealer tag (Kody Karts and not some mundane hardware store) and the engine labels. Good to see the 1983 engine date and what they looked like then as far as labeling goes (even in 1983 they used a metric displacement instead of just the horsepower). The engine date more...

    1960/61 Rupp Kart?

Wow looks really nice. Tell us some more details, what kind of paint, what shop did it (free publicity), did the painter sandblast it too? etc. It definitely is a project and involves research as to what hardware goes where. I’m still baffled about the brakes. You seem to be handling the refurb...

    Help Getting GX140 Running

Spark plug gap looks massive, at least to me, and it does look wet especially in the threads. That's no help. WTR already said all the pertinent stuff. 🎓 I doubt that. Florida is like sea level, TN is up there...unless you're in quite a hole. Just sayin' :)

Go kart sprocket too close to ground

Is the chain you are using #35? If not, what is it? I bet Master Hack has some clever math to determine diameter with tooth count....

My 2 karts - old from the 80s/90s

I really like that body style, nice and low, minimalist and looks like a Chaparral (at least from that angle)?

Some Advice Please About Exhaust Choice

Part of the equation is will it fit in the confines of the kart/kart frame? Many of these newer karts or hybrid kart-buggies have a cage over the engine, a luggage rack, shock absorbers or frame members in the vicinity that may preclude the pipe from going straight up, for example. Better show...

My 2 karts - old from the 80s/90s

The thread starter hasn’t been seen since 2020 but you never know, he may be subscribed to the thread and may get an email notification. I’d love to hear more about the concession kart business, though. You “stacked them” every night? That needs some explanation…

    Invader restoration and Murray Kilowatt

Fellas, this thread was someone else's (abandoned) Project Log and is not the place for all Murray Kilowatt content. I don't know where the original poster Voodoo Rufus is or if he finished his kart but he may return to this thread in the distant future and I will be happy to unlock it for him...

Thoroughly confusing thread and photos. Same kart and truck in post #1 and #18....

    Small Engine Motor Madness 🤪

Part Deux. Always good DIY content: Edited to add: looks like he is retaining the chainsaw more or less intact so it could return to duty cutting wood.

Go kart sprocket too close to ground

Where’s the pics? I want to see the new tires/wheels mounted up and the ground clearance they provide for the original sprocket. As long as there’s some ground clearance, and the sprocket isn’t actually rolling on the ground acting like a 3rd wheel, it’ll be fine. I don’t think we addressed...
