    gearing help

Sprocket So in an effort to save money if I kept the 72 tooth sprocket and went from a 12 to a 10 tooth centrifugal clutch what would that do for me. Would it get the cart moving a little bit quicker and have a little less top end ?? Thanks. Dan

    gearing help

Hi I have a radio flyer kart build. Been away from it for a while. My build post has been closed. Don't know why, maybe because I was gone so long. I need help with picking the right sprockets. I have a 72 teeth axle sprocket and can use it but here is what I have. 10" tall tires, a 79cc 3HP...

New guy building a Radio Flyer Wagon Kart

more done Slowly but still fun. I got a used wagon off C.L. and bolted it to the frame. Had to cut out an area for the sprocket. Next I welded the supports for the seat. I cut the seat from 3/4 wood and it is not bolted to the supports yet. Next I will save for the motor so I can know where to...

New guy building a Radio Flyer Wagon Kart

Got yet another question for anyone that can help. I checked the net and just got confused. My tires read 4.5/10.5-5 front 60/10.5-6 rear Looking at tire stores I cant find any with these markings. Did they change the way you read the side wall? How do I figure out what tire to buy. Thanks Dan

New guy building a Radio Flyer Wagon Kart

So I think I'm going to get the 3 hp motor. Its smaller and I hope it will be enough to have some fun on. Is there any reason why I shouldn't get it?? Other than less power? Thanks

New guy building a Radio Flyer Wagon Kart

Thanks guys, So now more on motors questions please. 3 or 6.5 I have a 72 sprocket on now, what would be a good set up. 6.5 with 10 or 12 clutch and 72 sprocket? 3 hp with same same ? I can get a new sprocket if needed but 72 is what I robbed from the bar stool. Dan

I will switch the spindles before welding anything to the steering. As for the motor, I'm sure there are better choices but I'm on a budget. I got this bar stool racer used and in very bad shape. It was sitting outside in the weather for who knows how long. Plan to use as much as I can from it...

New guy building a Radio Flyer Wagon Kart

Thanks guys. I'm starting to think about motors. I'm going to get the H.F. 3 or 6 horse power. I naturally want the biggest but this is going to be a radio flyer wagon cart and I wonder if a 6er will be too much? Dan
