I used a length of 3/4" bright steel bar for my steering column, nice and strong and cheap too, available in any length from your local steel supplier.

I just remembered something important about the front suspension block, Bill identified a mistake in the plans with the width of it. Have a read through his thread and double check. If you build it to the plans measurements, then the steering rack will throw the geometry out.

I wish I had stretched my frame by another couple if inches, I can only imagine how cramped the standard frame is. I also think that the foot well area should be a lot wider.

You could file or grind two flats half way down the rod, then grip that in your vice. That should stop it from rotating.

Thanks Grizz, I'll stick with what I've got then, as I don't think fine adjustments to the geometry will be much of an issue with the Ah-crap-nid.
