    Jetting Briggs Fun Power Carb

I have a 5hp Briggs, model 135232. It has crummy fixed jets...wish I would have know this else I would have replaced the carb before buying a K&N style air filter adapter. Oh well. At any rate...it's running lean (stock engine minus 3-stage header and K&N intake). This crummy carb does not...

6.5 Clone CARB Smog Crap Removal

Great thanks. I went ahead and pulled plastic cover...and yea...it just loops from the gas tank to the secondary filler valve, then to the air filter. I already chucked it. Looks like other then the valve cover venting into the carb (can tell...it goes behind the plastic cover where the...

6.5 Clone CARB Smog Crap Removal

Just bought a 6.5hp Lifan (greyhound) blue clone motor from Harbor Freight, since they gottem on sale. Since I live in the crummy state of CA...it's a CARB motor. It appears theres the upper part of the fuel tank has a fitting that goes to the air intake. Theirs also two hoses that go from...

WTB 2 Rims For 11x7.00-5 Tires

I'm looking for (2) rims for 11x7.00-5 tires. Backspacing needs to be 1 1/2"...with a center hole for a 5/8" bearings (looks like an 1 1/4" hole). I have the bearings and the tires...really just need the rims. This is for a dead axle drive. I have split rims with a spacer and a tube now and...

First video footage of my reverse trike kart

Heh...cool. Sharps turns look interesting...I'm sure your gonna be going faster then 35 with how much it weighs...especially at more then 80% throttle. 6.5 seems huge for that kind of weight.

    Low End Loss

Thanks for all the input. I was considering adjusting the gov higher...but was wondering if the plastic gov gear or other gov pieces can handle the higher rpms? Since the motor is stock, I presume the valves will float any how without the gov. I bought a 59t sprocket. I may also try a mid...

    Should Have Do This Sooner

Doh...just realized I joined a couple of days ago and didn't post here...oh well. I have an old custom go-kart that was build by a friend of mine back in 1994 (I was around 12 then). The is a simple single wheel drive. It's just a fun kart...no serious performance here....but it's a good...

    Hey

Hello, Your frame design looks fine from the pic you posted. The seat mount looks like it might be a little over-complicated...but otherwise it looks fine. I believe your gonna need a large sprocket and larger/better wheels to get moving though with that motor though. Their are quite a few...

    Low End Loss

Thanks for the advice. Unfortanetly, removing the gov is pretty much out. Other's use this kart...some seem to think a motor can rev to "blue sky". They just don't understand it has it limits. I guess if I could put some kind of light that would go on at a certain rpm...like a shift light...

    Worth $70 bucks??

Yep...even if it didn't have the motor...it's unlikely you'd be able to even build it for $70. Usually, something like that around here...they'd want $150 - $300 for the same thing. As already mentioned..the motor alone makes it worth it ;)

Can't wait to see some clones of this....

Has any progress been made on this suspension? Chad Clancy has the right idea...but it's a little more then that. Since they kept bragging about their suspension being patented....I went ahead and looked it up. Go to HERE Look at pages 8 through 12. The internal design is shown on page 11...

    General welding information

Tig is the welding method generally preferred for welding aluminum and stainless. Especially, thin metals. Mostly due to it's on-the-fly voltage control (usually via a foot pedal which really helps for heat control). I'd just thought I'd mention it since some ppl might be making their frame...

    ?'s on Motor

As to the oil...the manual that came with my old motor...called for 30w above 40 degrees and 5w30 or 10w30 below 40 degrees. Also a big warning to check oil more often when using 5w or 10w30...because the motor is air cooled...which tends to burn more oil then liquided cooled motors as it...

what type of welder do i need

Which ever way you go, try to get a 220v unit...the 110v's are marginal. They work...but the 220v is so much nicer. Any particular reason it has to be gas less? Price? Now I just wish I could "gas less"

    Low End Loss

Hi, First post here...since others have probably already been their, done that. I'm looking at giving my kart a little boost in speed but I'm concerned about not having enough low end grunt to get going. Current setup: One wheel wonder (single drive wheel) 12T Max-Torque Centrifugal Clutch...
