I have a 5hp Briggs, model 135232. It has crummy fixed jets...wish I would have know this else I would have replaced the carb before buying a K&N style air filter adapter. Oh well.

At any rate...it's running lean (stock engine minus 3-stage header and K&N intake). This crummy carb does not have removable jets. The needle seat is part of the carb casting. The other jets are covered by a welch plug and are also fixed.

This is the carb:

This carb has always caused a weird idle issue since new. I have an odd idle thats not always consistant.

So...how do I jet this carb? Or maybe if I can find one at a descent price, just get a 397135 carb instead. This engine has some pretty low hours so I really hate to have to dump it for another one...but the non-adjustable thing stinks.

I've rather keep a b&s carb so I can keep the tank on the motor. I'm considering swapping between this and a 6hp diesel motor for extra fun.

Thanks.
