Sounds like get it tight but not to tight...lol with some lock tight and a lock washer..F&$$ it just run the thing fix it when it breaks...hahhehe

I thought it should be tight, no play on shaft?

On instructions it calls for a little gap 1/16 to 1/32?

Does have to be good metal for the Rpm's or any pipe will do?

I gave predittor 212 with a Hillard clutch but it is not tight to crank.the clutch moves side to side on crank with the crank bolt tight.what kind if shim should I put on the crank? I don't want to grind down crank...lol

Shift pattern is one down four up or sit on it rock atc back and forth trying to shift shifter down (yes counter clockwise) bottom is first a little up is neutral a (half shift) then four more all up

I have same motor. Make sure it has a fuel filter and that it is clean, mine ran the same way when main jet is clogged up.Turn off gas, remove fuel bowl then the jet in center, my guess it got dirt in it. good luck

the band brake has its clamping power exserted closer to the axle center line I,d think. If the brake pads are farther from axle on a disc, more leverage = better braking, but as long as it works, a skid on pavement can,t get much better

The clutch on the motor is the primary, the secondary clutch is the other one with the chain behind it. The secondary clutch is stuck opened, the belt should be all the way at the top. Try a good cleaning of the secondary, the side with the spring should move in (together) with the spring...

Any thoughts on a hub maybe a old lawn mower or something?

With the 11.5" tall tires its max 10 ish mph so a 20"er should be double mph. To much strain on the 1" axle?
