Seat foam

I just reused old stuff, I have been call cheap more than once, LOL.I got the vynil at Joann's fabric ,a sewing/craft store,it said marine grade, cost $10, I did see lots of foam there too. It was not hard and would recommend it to a beginner as it is cheap, and looks new again. oh ya and I will only be embroidering on very top chusion, not yet installed

Update here: motor in, jackshaft installed, throttle working, wheels a turning!! I went with 10 tooth on motor to a 20 input 10 out to a 56 axle, yes slow but good for a my 9 yr old daughter. I will gear up as she gets more exp. With this low gearing i thought about getting some taller tires and rims ...maybe from an atv. A quick wheel swap for more speed for dad... any thoughts. oh and had to show off the jackshaft / gears cover (z real safety issue with kids) my wife like it but not impressed LOL. Still needs top seat recovered and brake pads so no test ride yet :( but a much smaller to do list! if you look close you can see springs behind seat this cart has a split frame.

That's a good starting ratio for a new (kid) driver. I started my kids at 12:1 with a 15" tire. The only issue is the ridiculous rear wheel torque. They could NOT accelerate from a standstill without doing a burnout! LOL.

Good work- I like!

Ain't THAT the truth! We let the grass grow pretty tall out back, and mowed in a track. After several hours of running the course- well, I may not have to ever mow there again... :D

It's a feasible idea/ If you can locate some 6 or 8" rims, with either a suitable bore, or hubs to fit your axle, you should be able to swap them back and forth as needed. Speed for you will not be blinding, but you could see a decent increase.

The axle should be fine, but you will be effectively halving the reduction ratio. With the additional rotating mass, you may be pushing your luck with the clutch. Maybe 16-18" turfs?

It's possible. See what you can source. Some mowers use keyed bore wheels, some use bolt-on hubs that are retained to the axle with roll pins or shear bolts.

Update seat logo

A little help for from mom on the logo for that personal touch. My kids could not agree on a # so crossed flags it is! I got the brake pads too a test ride tomorrow. As long as I do not get to much snow 2" or less should be fun, crossing my fingers, might not get any sleep good either! LOL Oh ya and I think having a build log here helps keep my motivated / on track.
