I have done it. The clutch engages too hard for use to propel a vehicle. And when disengaged there it a brake that locks up the clutch. It was only good for burnouts.

If it helps heres a kart I converted from gy6 to big block - 40 series. The jackshaft makes it easy , factory rear axle sprocket . Plenty of room

I would select 3/4 , it is the most common. If they are supplying the jackshaft, they should ship the corresponding shaft diameter and clutch when ordered. One would hope.
