As far as I am concerned the MAC has held up fairly well in the 15yrs. that I have owned it. It has went back to MAC 5 years ago for rebuild for new ratchet. About being accurate its about the same as my Snapons. I have a $11.95 Harbor Freight that my grandson got me for fathersday 2 yrs ago...

I am going to voice my opinion. I would either TIG, Braze or Gas Weld. I would more likely TIG weld the more I think about it as that is what I had to do last fall for one of the guys that I work with.
