As far as I am concerned the MAC has held up fairly well in the 15yrs. that I have owned it. It has went back to MAC 5 years ago for rebuild for new ratchet. About being accurate its about the same as my Snapons. I have a $11.95 Harbor Freight that my grandson got me for fathersday 2 yrs ago...
I am going to voice my opinion. I would either TIG, Braze or Gas Weld. I would more likely TIG weld the more I think about it as that is what I had to do last fall for one of the guys that I work with. His son broke his frame on his HIGH DOLLAR mountain bike and did not want to replace the frame...
In my tool box that I take to the racetrack I carry a 3/8" drive Blackhawk from MSC also a Craftsman 3/8" beam type along with an older Craftsman 1/4" beamtype for small stuff. At home I have 2 Snapon 3/8", 1 MAC and 1 Snapon 1/2" and a old Bluepoint 3/4". From time to time I take them to work...
