That's the thing if you have that much horsepower on it your cart better be able to handle it. because you're going to punch it maybe not today maybe not tomorrow but sooner or later you're going to put your foot on the floor and let it fly. just my 2 cents, carry on.

I got this in trade. As the title says not a go kart but it used to be a golf cart so at least there is a "cart" in there somewhere. It has a Yamaha xs1100 powerplant, shaft drive with a Toyota rear end. Custon paint and upholstery.

I hate to answer a question with a question, but what do you want it to do? the most common use for that type of engine is a shifter/racing kart but that type of setup would be almost useless if you intend to ride in dirt. So where do you intend to use it?

Mine did something similar, and i agree with sid, take it off, disassemble it, clean and make sure the bearing/bushing in the center is well lubed-greased.
