Hey guys, so I've been bouncing around with ideas for my Kandi 150cc, from dumping money in my GY6 to a engine swap... Well I got an amazing deal on 93 Arctic cat 550 EFI. The complete sled for $80!!!! So that made my mind up, an engine swap lol

Here's what I have to work with..

Any ideas and tips?

I reckon not on HP, but how much time and money you have.
Regardless the frame will need reinforcement and you will need good brakes.

That too, but I was saying horsepower because even if you do have the money, it may be too fast for you, I'm not saying I'm against it because me myself am planning to make a snowmobile engine go kart right now

That's the beautiful thing about having an accelerator, whether it's a foot-feed or a twist grip. It's adjustable. You don't HAVE to take it all the way to the max. The frame must be built or modified to handle the torque though.

So true, that's what ive been telling people all the time, just because I have a 36 HP snowmobile engine on my go kart it doesn't mean I have to use all of it

That kandi sypder will do just fine with that snowmobile engine ( if done right).
Get larger tires since you will have so much torque.

That's the thing if you have that much horsepower on it your cart better be able to handle it. because you're going to punch it maybe not today maybe not tomorrow but sooner or later you're going to put your foot on the floor and let it fly. just my 2 cents, carry on.

If you decide to do this, read, read, read posts on this forum about transplanting snowmobile engines on a kart. It's been done a lot, so use the information that's on this site to your advantage. I'm doing my second one now and the information here is very valuable.
