Anderkart, once again sorry about my lack of knowledge about this but how would you remove the governor and if you do that wouldn't the engine just blow. Aldo why's rejecting the carb and what's a making a straight pipe?

Also I have another question. I was thinking about just making the kart a 1 speed with a centrifugal clutch and sprocket. How fast should a kart with a 10 to 12 tooth clutch and 50 to 60 tooth sprocket go w/ that 10th Honda on it? Cuz if it's 30 to 40mph I won't bother w/ torq converters or...

It's a horizontal engine I will be using. Sorry but this is my first kart project and I would like to know what a torque converter is and what it does. Also how expensive are they because I don't have alot if green to burn. Thanks guys.

I am building a go kart with a 10hp Honda engine. A relative of mine used to build karts and said he used a 12hp and a 6 speed lawnmower transmission and it went 80mph. I have no clue how he did this. So how do I use a lawnmower transmission and I would love any other cheap transmission ideas...
