Good stuff. Im going to keep my eye out for a 250 four stroke bike engine.

What's the displacement in this Kawasaki motor?
Thanks. I was looking at step bits and the graduations seem to be about 1/8"...so not good for 3/16" stock. I guess I'll just buy 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 1" twist drill bits.
Jeez...i never knew that. So you'd need to reuse the bike exhaust/muffler or have a custom one made...hmmmm....there are not off-the-shelf pipes for this motor?

Okay...so switching gears to a four-stroke (no...
Got welder rigged up... somehow missing the gas dispersion thing in the gun nozzle...so....no welding today. Got a little propane Mr Heater set up in garage. 15 degrees outside and Mr Heater only got us to maybe 35 inside.
Slightly rusted flywheel magnets/bad coil gap? (Thus your weak spark) It should be fat and blue.
Also, is it real easy to pull starter cord? (Poor compression)>>>bad valves or bad head gasket?
All tooled up: New Lincoln 180 MIG welder, torch, tools, etc. Made 4x8 fabrication table. Picked up steel two days ago. Will start doing some practice welds tomorrow since its been quite a few years since last welding. And hopefully we'll be cutting frame members in the afternoon. Motor...
Assuming i could find a CR125 or a CR250 engine used, for reasonable money ($500 or less)...which would be a better option for some fast fun...not looking for race class compliance. Is the 125 too finicky with narrow power band? Would the 250 be easier to just run stock? Is a early 2000s...
This world of shifters is pretty confusing for the neophyte. So here's a guy with a decent racing shifter, a 125cc two-stroke, and his kart appears well set-up. Apparently this is a 125 from a Honda CR125 dirt bike.

As he describes it, you...
Hmmm...I'm not sure what that means. The title says "4 stroke vs. 2 stroke"...but the clip doesn't explain anything about the difference or explain what the guy is running on that kart.
Is a 150-200cc 4-stroke dirt bike motor and transmission going to move a 200 pound rider on an older racing frame....like 70-80 mph top end?
Whats the top end of a Lifan 125 on an older racing frame? roughly....
thanks
That's a nice looking frame. I'm going to check that out later.

I have a bunch of Lenox and Milwaukee bi-metal holes saws for wood. But I know from experience that even hitting a (soft) nail will do damage...
