    Introduction

That's a Tecumseh Star engine with an aftermarket Clements Head and other upgrades. They were roughly based on the 10-HP Tecumseh HM100, but the Star engines were specifically intended for kart racing. They were 357cc. and had around 20HP in stock form, but yours looks to be highly modified...

    Post your car!

Here's my 56 f-100: I wanted to keep it mostly all stock when I restored it, but did a few upgrades. I built a 1964 292 (Y-block) lower end with 1957 312 heads & intake W/600 Holley. Emerso vintage headers, Top-loader 4-speed and the original rear end with 391 gears. It was originally a...

Where to ride my go kart near Bloomingdale IL ?

I found a few secluded parking lots to ride my kart on Sundays. I never asked anyone for permission because I assumed they'd just say no due to liability issues, but I soon got bored just riding around all by myself so... Then I posted wanted ads in my local craigslist and soon found serveral...

Ok, 1st thing you need to do is accurately measure which of these 3 different bolt-patern & center hole diameter sizes of rim you need, to assure your new rim will fit your wheel-hub. Accurately measure like this diagram illustrates, then we'll move on to width & backspacing.

    Gearing for a cross kart

I used this motorcycle gearing calculator: https://www.gearingcommander.com/ I substituted your karts 20"-tall rear-tire diameter (It's 62.83") & I also substituted your current rear sprocket (42-teeth): That site lists your engine having 57 horsepower with a max/redline RPM of 9500...

7/8" crankshaft Clutch or Torque convertor for B&S 6.5hp Intek

I found some info at this link showing the 6.5 Intek was available with a 6:1 gear reduction option that also included a 7/8" keyed output shaft: https://www.briggsandstratton.com/content/dam/briggsandstratton/na/en_us/Files/FAQs/65%20hp%20VanguardHoriz.pdf I'm wondering if you might have one...

    Which size sprocket would fit?

Your racekart frame was designed for use with 2-cycle engines only (2-cycle racekart engines have their output shaft on the right side, 4-cycle on the left), that's why your frames rear cross-bar is so close & in the way of you installing a larger axle sprocket... It's actually a very common...

    Emmick Go Kart Frame Price

I raced karts like this for quite awhile and can tell you this one was made back in the 1980's or 90's, (it has angled front Near-Bar mounts) resulting in rule changes making it no longer being allowed to compete at most Sanctioned Racekart racks. ~ That's no big deal if you never plan on...

Go kart sprocket too close to ground

I'd expect those tires to be tubeless, buy you could ask the seller just to be sure. You'll find lots of instructional videos on youtube, if you use the "Broken Bolt" search term (y)

Go kart sprocket too close to ground

Before you buy any new rims, you'll need to confirm what bolt patern (and center hole) sizes you need. Here's how to measure:

Go kart sprocket too close to ground

Size Info on your old rear tires tells us they're only 10" tall and 4-1/2" wide. Here's a link to the tallest Kart Tires I could find to fit your rear rims. They're only 4" wide but they're 12" tall, so they'd result in getting your axle sprocket 1" further off the ground...

Go kart sprocket too close to ground

Regarding taller back tires, i was wondering if your planning on competing at a Racekart track, or just riding this kart around somewhere for fun? If your just going to ride this kart around for fun, where are you planning on riding it? Like on paved roads or paved parking lots, or off road...

Then you also need to count and tell us how many teeth your Clutch Sprocket has, so we'll be able to help you select a smaller Axle Sprocket that will result in a suitable gear ratio. Also, are your rear tires approximately 11 inches tall when aired up to around 10psi?
