I'm glad Robert has been able to keep this place going for 20 years or 20+ years at this point and kept it free for us. Hope he's doing well.

They really need to put a lock on who gets in for membership, like some make you wait a few hours and even then, only allow you to post in select parts of the forum.

Wait and see. Not my problem.

Eh, whatever. It’s not like they’re hurting for money. There’s Hent.com right on every page selling parts. DIYGK doesn’t even have that. The only “merchandise“ ever associated with this place was GRATIS (The orange and blue logo stickers).

Alright, maybe OMB is cracking down and limiting the freeloaders like me. Anyone else get this message?

Twice now, I have had this message. Almost sounds personal! I think it’s because OMB gets a lot of traffic and it may be bogging the site. I’ve seen it up to 30K “people” viewing the site over there at any one time.

Forgot to add: like Edwin said, it’s just a speed bump not a roadblock. Refreshing gets around it

"Since lots of requests in a short period of time can overload a website, Cloudflare lets a site owner monitor and control your bandwidth consumption.

You can limit the impact of high-volume traffic by setting up a “rate-limiting” rule on a per-IP address or domain basis through the Cloudflare rate-limiting feature in your website owner settings. With rate limiting, Cloudflare can automatically block traffic from a suspicious site visitor or IP address so that hackers, spammers, and other online pests are can’t bog down your site’s performance with DDoS attacks and other illicit activities."

On iPhone just turn on airplane mode 10 seconds and turn off new IP address. restart phone new IP switch off networking new IP loose service 10 seconds = New IP

Never once had a problem on the site either.

$25 a YEAR. About 2 bucks a month. Nobody will starve. You all spend more than that on coffee.

You’re pushing that awful hard, mister. “I’m a member, I’m a member and I have no access issues!” We get it. How much are they paying you??

:roflol:

This thread is just entertainment and a heads up to our sister site. Nothing against OMB. Well, I take that back....

I don't frequent OMB that much anymore, I did a lot back when I had a ton of mini bikes and was buying, selling and looking for advice. I would split time between here and there. I would be willing to spend money on a yearly subscription here though.

I got the 1015 error a couple times too, but all it really does is make you wait about 5 sec before loading a new page. I think their site is getting lots of bot and scraper traffic and that's a way to mitigate it. It's not really degrading the user experience for me.
