Carburetor Issues!!!!

While installing my nibbi pe24 on my go cart I ran into an issue where it will not allow me to put the air filter on due to the frame being in the way. I want to know if there is a curved intake manifold that I could use to mount it. I read that some people say they make you lose power so please let me know.

Since you have to order stuff anyway.. Shorter manifolds are available and I would get a short and stubby, foam filter if possible. The one you have now will leave your engine ruined if used in dusty conditions. Ask how I know :rolleyes:

Okay is there things I can do to keep some reliability? And are you suggesting I get a stubby manifold or a curved manifold.

A billet rod.
Remove the governor parts.
A real air filter.
Change the oil once in a while.

Use what ever intake makes it work.
A stubby intake and a short filter may still hit the frame.
I would use a curved intake. This allows for a broader range of air filters.
Ive had better luck with the dual foam ones over the bug screen cones.
Take that cone and look trough it. I bet you can see holes in the "filter"

I am using a hemi motor and have heard that many parts aren’t available.

Are the parts the same for hemi vs non hemi?

The governor mechanism is designed to maintain about 3600 revs OR in the realm of *governed* speeds (I think most governors can be adjusted to give a top RPM of about 4600+/-).......

Seems the universal governor gear material is “plastic” across all manufacturers. It has metal centrifugal weights in the center but the whole thing is iffy when you consider it rotating at speeds the whole engine was never designed to do, and that’s why we remove it. In reality it's usually a pale yellow high strength nylon gear but it can self destruct if driven too fast.

That’s kind of funny that you think it’s still doing its job, but your governor is bypassed or disconnected. Is the governor arm still flopping around loose on top of the engine? 😬

For "slightly reliable", do what WTR suggested.

Industry standard oil change interval is something like 25 hours. You could get one of those digital tach/hour meters.
...And then watch your revs with it.
Stay away from ethanol-blended gasolines.
