looking for some help with an racing mower frame im planning on building for my school project this year. i have some plans, but im not sure about the measurements, and i was wondering if there was any tips/tricks i could use to find the necessary measurements. To be clear, im building this frame from scratch out of 25mm x 25mm (1inch x 1inch) steel. i have a yamaha ag200 engine im going to mount to the front. thanks in advance.

You have plans you said. Plans generally have measurements. What is it ya need help with?
haha plans is a generous word. i have an outline on tinkercad (very much a work in progress) but currently all the measurements for that are just place holders. eg; the length in tinkercad is 940mm and the width is 340mm. is there a way to know if those are good measurements for me? any tips or tricks?

Usually most start out with a lawn tractor and modify it until it resembles a slammed lawn tractor. Just copy the foot print of one. Since this wouldn't be a race legal mower, you have leeway.

Draw it out on the floor with chalk to whatever size ya like. Measure it and scale it from there. The beauty of it is, you can make it any size ya like.
thats a great idea thanks, ill have to butter up my metalwork teacher first  see how much he really likes me

that would be a hell of a lot easier, but i have to make it from scratch for the standard im doing

ive sort of done a mixture of things, i got some chalk and drew it out on the floor of my workshop. i measured it out against myself and my engine. i think it works out to be abt 1460mm long and 800mm from one edge of the "deck" to the other. the hood is 500mm wide by 690mm long. chances are i'll modify these before the end of the project anyway  now i just have to see how much i can get done in 45hrs. thanks for all the help
