Hi there, just wanted to do an open discussion, to see all the cool builds you all have! Stock, modified, whatever it is I wanna hear it.
I’ll start, I have a F&W Assoc. Kart, and a Kandi 110cc, sadly no pics at the moment. 😢

That's not a go kart as much as you want it to be. That's a UTV, basically a car. A go kart is something that two people (or one if you're like me lol) can lift and put in a truck bed or the back of a minivan.

You should get a go kart. They are FUN when you're that low to the ground and you have the wind in your hair...

I get your point, but my desire is riding ATV trails with my wife. :) I did a home made cart when I was really young. Lots of fun.

I put the windscreen on for my wife.

My garage is tiny, so perhaps that fact, imbued the image with an unwarranted sense of scale and caused the confusion. But I'll let the factory web page explain it to you. If you're still confused, go watch Red Beards Garage, which is mostly off road go carts (like this). Yea, I'm doubling down. But it sounds to me you only want on road go carts, and off road go carts aren't welcome. If so, then just say it. Or, is that what you were saying by implying this "isn't" a go cart. Which it is, (an off road go cart) with a GY6 based single cylinder "scooter motor". Maybe I should put my bicycle next to it so you can see that the seat is about even with the bicycle crank axis.

Don't let hellion ruffle your feathers.
There's blurry lines as to what's a kart is anymore.
Normally I think a kart is a small frame powered by a small engine where your knees are in your chest.. Then there's buggy. Those are usually a bit bigger and you sit more comfortably. Bigger engines usually come with these.
Now the safety police have spoken and most of the coleman/china karts have got popular with a cage type frame for safety.
You haven't crossed into crosskart or full suspention power houses yet so don't worry.
We will still help you. And make fun of each other as we do.
Carry on.

You ok man. No need to get upset. Bustin chops is what he does best. Keep on posting. Give us progress reports and reliability updates regularly so we can know if we should eventually waste our money on one or not.

cyberbillp, don't let it get under your skin. We hack and sling a lot of mud at each other but it's all in good natured fun. I'm not a big fan of your buggy, but it has nothing to do with the size of it being a 2 seater. I don't like the modern Chinese kart because they try to put too much on them. Lights, reverse, key start, neutral saftey switches, ect. ect. Too complicated. Myself, I have 4, and every one is a 2 seater with a cage. I wouldn't buy anything else. I like to buy old worn out beaters, build a new hot rod engine ( my favorite part ) and fix them up for my grandkids. In keeping with the title of the thread, " let's see what you guys own" hear is a photo of my karts.

Had em both out today.

Oh no Karl! That exhaust pipe is slowly eating away the seat. 😲 I point mine to the rear so I get a little "exhaust thrust". Every little bit helps.
Tell us what they are (one is a Manco, slightly modified).

Haha it's fine. I need to remount the seat.

The manco I got for free with a broken frame. I extended and repaired it, and
upsized the rear tires. I just picked up a 99$ predator to replace the built
honda, to sell the kart.

The sprint kart I have no idea, it does have lifan 212cc with a 14cc big valve 32/28mm head,
dyno f275 cam, and a 28mm nibbi. Hillard inferno needle bearing clutch.
It's the only vehicle I own that scares me. Sounds like a 450 race bike.

First post. HELLO
I have a Coleman 196cc I bought used for my wife and grand kids. It was small for me to fit in it so I cut it in half(front to rear) extended it 6 to 8 inches. Added a 8 tooth sprocket in place of the stock 9 (lots of hills) updated the carb, filter and exhaust. Revised to seat.
Now I am replacing the head with a self ported one, better valve springs and pushrods. Put a tach on it and try to get the rpm to around 4500 and keep the gov.
Pic if anyone is interested.

Welcome grumpy. The older and grumpier, the better. Yes, lets see a picture. If you've got the funds, put in the billet rod and flywheel, remove the governor, and the sky's the limit. The engine will hold together, no matter how hot you build it. As long as there's a load on it, you can't over rev it.

okay a few pics of some past work, seat and kart enlargement.
used 12" long tubing, after cutting the Kart in half inserted the existing tubing in 2" on each end for an 8" extension.
welded around the tubing and a button weld thru the tubing about an inch in from the ends. Added a 12" plate to the floor with the same 2" overlap and welded that in.
The seat reuses some of the original seat with plywood added on the back and bottom, lots of foam and new red sparkle material.
The seat can still be moved on the original track.

Nice work. You even stretched the roll cage. I suppose that was necessary when elongating the kart. How does it ride?
