Have a tecumseh OHH60 power sport engine on a go kart trying to get going with no spark now. Originally the carburetor was trash and ordered a new one in meantime I tested my new toggle switch had power and had spark with a spark plug tester. I unbolted the shroud to clean the cobwebs inside there put back together.got carb installed last night now all sudden no spark.pulled shroud cover few times to check broke/loose wires and the green wire that runs to the shroud outside is reading good. Assuming somehow the ignition coil went bad? Or is it possible when I slid the shroud cover off to the side it threw timing off? Thanks for any info.IMG_4226.jpeg

Bad coil is not it.
Knocking timing off isn’t it.

It’s got to be something with the wiring. Either the new switch or what ever happened with the outdoor email wire and the fan shroud.

Check for a pinched green wire sounds like you may have the green wire shorted someplace. Try disconnecting the green wire at the engine and see if spark does not come back.
Thanks will check tonight

will get spark if I take off the terminal piece my toggle/black wire is connected to and hookup the green wire directly on the plastic piece.possibly need to get a spade connector so they both on the same terminal & screw to black plastic piece?

Got the issue resolved pretty sure the issue was the spade terminal block on the shroud that my black toggle switch wire goes to I clipped the green wires loop end and put a spade end on and connected that to the terminal blocks other end & made sure the metal tabs were bent more forward not to touch metal & I got spark.

Hey, you bought the kart from someone who stuffed a rag in the gas tank. Shouldn't be surprised at anything. Built at the Mickey Mouse garage. Hope you get it all sorted out by Christmas morning.
