Clutch and stock idleSounds like it's allergic to the ground.
Might need to see a specialist for that,
Is it a clutch or torq converter???
How high is the idle speed???
With the wheels off the ground and engine running, turn the idle speed down as low as it will go without dieing.Clutch and stock idle
A proper cleaning and lube job tends to me more cost effective and satisfying than junking a 30 or 40 series thats misbehavingA 30 series torque converter replacing your malfunctioning clutch is possibly a simple solution to all the words problems.
Assuming it's got a 30 series on it I'm going to guess you probably have an alignment issue binding the belt which causes drag. Drag at idle will stall any engine if there's enough of it.So when I lift up my kart of the ground it starts fine but when I touches the ground it dies

POS clutch, probably got a broken or stretched spring“Clutch and stock idle”
I think it's the clutch it's not altitude it wether being on the ground or not when the wheels touch it dies. The seller had this happen and told me I needed a new clutchCome awn guys....
Obviously its carb jetting. It runs better at higher altitudes and dies on the ground. The height difference is causing it to lean out on the ground, when it is lifted up the thinner air hits that magic 14.7 stoichiometric mixture mixture thing. I think a holley 750 should cure the problem.
