they do use wood in airplanes still and wooden boats are still a thing.....the car depends on which 4th or 5th world nations and being referenced

I can definitely see why this would be best for structural integrity, the only problem with it being mounting the back axle. I'd practically need to send a 4in bolt the long way down a piece of wood to hold it to the frame, most likely deleting a solid amount of the structural integrity (and or wood splitting?). Surprisingly, when I do that jump test (just by propping the frame up on 4 pieces of wood at the corners), the amount of give was surprisingly low, had to have been less than 1 1/2'' since it didnt hit the ground
This was a rough situation anyway. It really only happened because my 'friend' completely ghosted me when he had the metal-framed trike we had already built and agreed to work on more to graduate.......(but idrc)High school finishing project. This is how he graduates. I’ll give @ethano8225 a pass on this one
All joking aside, you have put a lot of thought, time, energy and work into a project, that most people here at DIY would not attempt.Also I figure ill say it, the more people that say "building a wooden go kart is ridiculous" doesnt affect me because it actually helps my case @ my school. The original goal changed from modifying an already-built metal trike to look professional to building a fucn go kart from scratch, and that was because my partner ghosted me. Oh yeah, and do that all in a month without a welder. I can show proof to the staffers that what I got forced to do is practically shunned in the go kart community, because it is dangerous! From fires to splitting to long-term rot, it's clear its dangerous. With all that said, I'm kind of tempted to rip it just once in a hazmat suit

Trust me I've been thinking about stuff like this all the time, and that's why im sort of approaching this kart like a prototype, not like a safe buildSoap Box cars were made outta wood
...but, they were usually only powered by gravity (not several ponies)
...& IIRC there were some catastrophic crashes (ever had a big 'ol splinter in your keister?)

Yes! I have photos of everything once it was thrown together. Unfortunately i couldnt really use an engine because none of the clutches fit, but when i was pushed, the only thing that failed was the front right wheel hub bearing. I think with 4ish screws and that issue would disappear though, unfortunately i cant really check because i had to deconstruct it. I still have plenty of photos and videos of me riding it anyway, so if u want to see the franken-kart in motion i could upload em
