Hello y'all, this is my first post here so try to be easy on me. I am building a go kart for a school project and rushed what I was buying without taking the time to know 100% how to use it. The thing is, if I can figure out the exact name/type of steering I think I'll be able to figure it out in time, as I have about a month. I bought it off of amazon so I can link the page if anyone wants. A photo of it is attached too

Just to add this doesn't have to be perfect. I am only looking for a solution on how to make the steering actually work by attaching it to the frame properly. There are a few photos on the many listings of this product on ebay and amazon, but I don't think that will be the full solution to this and if you guys know better, I figure I'll take your guidance instead :)

Could we see the frame? I'd say those brackets weld to the frame. Just a guess.

Thank you! Now it's time to build a frame to install this on...
Just don’t bolt it together! Or build it out of wood! I only say this because we had a member attempt to bolt together an off road kart with poorly designed suspension. Then he suggested building a kart out of a pallet. I operate on the principle: “Do it right or don’t do it at all.”
kartfab.com has great resources for builders, he covers everything.

I fully understand where you're coming from. My first build was a trike, I did it with one of my friends as he has a welder, we took a bicycle front end and welded it on a square frame with 2 back wheels. Threw on a snowblower engine and a chain, and it ripped (about 45mph top speed, spun tires off-road and on dirt roads). This same "friend" told me he'd help me with this build, but he has ghosted me for the last month and a half, so I've been on my own. Essentially there is no way I can say "I'm not doing this project" as it is how I am going to graduate high school. My plan is to model the frame in a cad program, make it out of wood (i know) and never take the frame apart until I have the time to make it out of steel. This is because wood is really my only option right now. Once I make the frame I am not going to modify it to keep its structural integrity.
I'll post updates too, I'm very dedicated once I have a plan that I want done. And I'll add a video of the old trike because why not lol (trike video)
Also I'm not doing suspension, I'm basically going to make a static drift machine 😁

Nice trike. No suspension all the way, no need to over complicate things. Be Very careful if it’s made of wood. I’m in the same ’no welder boat’ so understand. Because mine is not a school project (it’s a fun project) so I bought a really nice frame and I’m restoring it with a new engine.

Yea I know.. It's probably going to be something like what I attached, the X support beams will be less large though. And I was thinking, if that isn't strong enough, I will add more supports until it is :LOL:Screenshot 2023-04-23 165305.jpg
