Wow. Not even 8 minutes. I've been to the top of pikes peak. That's cool!

I can see exactly why an electric car would be best for this. No altitude compensation and full torque out of every corner.

Exactly. One day electric will also rule the drag strip.

16 cylinders of 95% nitromethane blasting by at 330mmph vs a whisper of wind just doesn't compare.

You meant it won't be as loud. Technology is becoming cooler with each generation. Out with the old and in with the new. If you need a good example just look at manual transmissions. Soon those will only be found in classics and custom builds.

It’s internal combustion for me, and always will be because I like that I can pour fuel in and go, no waiting on batteries to charge, and I enjoy the sounds that a built up internal combustion engine makes.
I would challenge any of you electric guys to build anything that would keep up with my $2000 motor in a 20 lap race at the same price point. With the current technology (pun intended) it can’t be done.

Not sure of the specs of a Tesla Type S motor but, for discussion purposes

For an answer to your original topic, it kind of dependson how you look at it. If you are familiar with the both electric, and gas powered vehicles, then hands down (in my opinion) the electric is easier to build from scratch. Because there are no fuel lines, radiator, hoses, exaust system, etc., to run, or have to fabricate. Also, the ICE has so many moving parts, and it only takes one of them fail. With an EV, there are basically only 3 major parts: motor, controller, and battery. It is also a lot easier to diagnose a problem, if one occurs. I also prefer electric, because there is no smelly gas to deal with. Battery run time can definitely be an issue, however, you could have a set up like l do, and have removable batpacks, with a spare always ready to go. Both ICE, and EVs have their pros and cons. It just all boils down to what you prefer, what works best for you, and your intended application. It is kind of like comparing apples to oranges.....Just me 2 cents.:cheers2:

Having built a ton of gas powered 2 and 4 stroke; And a bunch of EV ohv's I would say electric is much more simple and easier to tune. But not worth the cost compared to gas. Only reason to go EV is for quiet so you can ride places you cant take gas powered toys.

I think its easier to build a gasser but easier to keep an EV running.

Gasser, just buy a predator 212 with built in gas tank. Add oil and gas. Hook up gas pedal cable and run it.

Easiest EV is the 48v brushless combo. Motor and controller hook up simple, but you have to make connectors and cables for any of the options you choose to use. You also have to figure out a power supply and charging setup.

Also, if the motor is spinning in the opposite direction you have to spend about 20 minutes trying different combos to flip it.
