Thank you , BigWes. I do plan on replacing the engine(nothing fancy) in the near future however the carb needs to go now. I just got it a few weeks ago. Can you suggest a decent carb for a beginner ? For now I just to run it with no issues/break downs until I decide how much I want to invest.

The Tc

I cleaned up the tc in anticipation of the belt arriving today.

So besides cleaning the tc inside and out, hours of wire brush , parts cleaner and sand paper !
I've added a 12v battery (had to weld a bracket) for the headlights (led that were never wired up), radio, etc and added a small taillight .

Every time my friends are over. My one friend is responcible for a bent tierod and stripped end as well as burning up my belt.

He helps fix it, and gives some parts for what he breaks.

He helps fix it said:
Man you sure are lucky lol, my friends break it and we both laugh for a bit, but I end up fixing it myself and buy parts myself. I am jealous

Can anyone suggest a good carb reasonably priced for this Tecumseh 6hp ? I need more power! More gas, more air = more power...I think...

Unless you go crazy with upgrading the head, I don't think it's worth it to put on a performance carb. You'd have to do major porting/polishing/oversize valves, etc. to make it worth it I think.
It's best to start with BASIC mods like governor removal, header, pod air filter, drill out jet, etc.

Well you could remove the govoner and fit a carb on from a briggs or something where the bolt holes are parallel to the ground, unlike the Honda carbs. Hopefully that will allow you to have an adjustable carb and a more reliable one, hopefully

Please explain to me this governor removal or if you could direct me to a video. I'm new to the small engine world but I am a very fast learner ...

Hey Dat1Guy,

Give us your engine ID. It’ll assist you in disassembly (for governor removal) and then help identify parts or upgrade parts for it.

The thing with removing the governor is that you have to rig up an alternative throttle actuator because the factory throttle is actually part of the governor linkage. All minds of modifying to be done. Wheeeee :D

Thank you both.....one more thing....when I had the tc apart I noticed springs need to be replaced. Can I buy just the springs(if so where) or do I need new tc?

I saw this video however the guy didn't seem convincing enough that he actually knew what he was doing. The screw driver prying thing just didn't seem right but who am I to judge ?:D

I mean hey, governors just kill the fun anyway, so why not kill the governor?
:roflol:
It's a pretty basic removal.

Also can anyone explain the pros and cons...reading a lot about excessive engine wear do to removal of the governor. If I'm only going to get a small amount of extra power verse more engine wear, not really sure I want to go that route verse just get a bigger engine.
