That's the Go Kart Identification Thread in FAQ & Articles, and it's kinda disappointing since it's only got 3 pages of karts.
We've had a ton of newly discovered go kart models lately, so I was thinking that maybe we could unlock it again for a while to update it a bit.
Since this is the Suggestion Box I figured this was a good place to ask.

Seee?
And Budget's post is exactly why it's closed..

Nearly ALL misinterpreted the topic and ASKED for identification instead
of providing pics and infos of a KNOWN kart!

dozens of posts have been deleted and still there are several that are pointless
(insufficient info or image or both)

And frankly, even Budget was again not paying attention at all..
and that will happen again and again and again until we're again closing it in -what- a week or two?

Bam!

I just re-read it. It had the potential to be a great resource but there's some fluff (off-topic) and general uncertainty. Some people just aren't positive about what they have and one poorly lit, low res or small pic isn't helping anyone. One person chimed in just to say he liked someone else's kart.

I saw another example of the dreaded "Streaker kart" which tells us pretty much jack squat about manufacturer and model.

And some of the picture links are dead/broken. :(

oh i thought you guys ment something else i reread it im sorry i thought it was a finding id thread but still no idea what my kart is lol

yeah we got that.. but this IS NOT the place to ask!
neither the thread nor the forum,
so don't even try to get an answer in this thread

It's exactly what I am talking about
NOBODY cared to actually read the first post to get an idea what the thread was about,
all blindly stumbled into that same stupid pit
just like you just did.

"Sorry, I haven't ... I wasn't .. I didn't...." is NOT helping in keeping such threads clean,
not at all, in fact it's adding just another useless comment
making the thread even worse.

Soooo, no, if we decide on starting a new thread alike,
a carefully picked topic will need to be chosen
"KNOWN kart IDs for reference" or such... IDK

And that would still not help with...
a) users posting tiny thumbnails under bad conditions (messy garage badly lit)
b) users just saying "my XYZ" [as if that'd help anyone]
and worst
c) users inadvertenly post false ids since they don't know better

'sid

PS And frankly.. most that do know their kart (make model etc)
give a flying shirt about posting those informations just to add to a 'database'.
Some would answer someone asking specifically but that's essentially it.

Start a thread in the Go Kart Discussion forum. Litter it with pics. It's impossible to have so many pics you can't identify it! While you're at it, go ahead and introduce yourself in the "Introduce Yourself" forum.

As usual, I put the horse before the kart. I saw this topic as I was looking over the site and thought, "wow..sounds like the potential mistake I'm about to make.", so I jumped in right here.

Sad thing is, that Hammerhead thing made of Chinesium steel isn’t a go kart. Its a buggy/ATV so technically you’re on the wrong site.
...but people keep treating them like they’re go karts...and on some level they almost qualify.

Isn’t “Hammerhead” the ID?

Yeah - I didn't really consider it a go kart by my limited understanding of things, but since everyone else seems to - I'm not here to reinvent the wheel.

"Hammerhead" is the brand, I believe...but there are quite a few different models with subtle differences.
