Anyone here have a 3203 with an aftermarket header/muffler? I am having a hard time with fitment due to the rear frame area and also the suspension travel. I have a header that is about 1 1/2” under the rear frame but when the suspension is compressed it will hit it. I could cut the header shorter but a muffler wouldn’t still not fit and I would have the same problem.

Anyone know and off the shelf header solution that drops down instead of rises up? Here is a picture of what I have currently. If I could find a a 30 degree elbow I could cut it off at the black line but that will still disrupt flow unless the id slipped over and had an ID that matched the current pipes OD.

Hopefully someone has ran I to this problem and has an easy solution. Thanks!

There's a seller on that popular auction site named andrei-x that does small engine headers that point every which way, including straight up.

This one down low might work:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Exhaust-With-3-4-thread-for-Predator-212cc-Honda-GX160-GX200-DuroMax-7-Hp/273820516075?hash=item3fc0f97eeb:g:YdQAAOSwfPlbsRoU:sc:USPSPriorityMailPaddedFlatRateEnvelope!37923!US!-1

Others are more horizontal; they come out at a right angle from the exhaust port and then straight back which also might work in your case, since yours is angled up.

Haha. That’s the guy I bought the header from. His was the lowest profile one I found and hugged the engine nicely. I messaged him after I posted and asked essentially if he could rotate the pipe 30-35 degrees clockwise and extend the length 2”. That should drop the rear portion a good bit and give the clearance that is needed. Hopefully he replies tomorrow. In the meantime I just chopped off 1 1/2” so that it fits inside the frame. That will at least let me get the engine up and running and properly jetted until I get the header situation figured out.

Thank you!

I've bought from him before. If you contact him, he can make you a custom header to your liking. It's cost a little bit more for the customization but well worth it.

He agreed to make what I need but there will be a little delay. I am going to get it in stainless. Until then the short header will work for garage testing. Tq converter comes in today!

Small update. The new pipe is in. I had the guy make the pipe to my dimensions in stainless. The fitment is now exactly how I wanted. Plenty of clearance and it looks beautiful. The price was outstanding for a custom part. Extremely happy with how it turned out. I’ll
Update more after it is installed fully and running.

Haha. The pics are vertical in my album. No clue why they rotated on the upload. Either way it’s gonna rock. The RLV muffler arrives tomorrow. Then just need to align the sprockets, install the chain and the torque converter. The kids and I will be rippin soon :)

You shoulda had him add a loop or make it look like a Stinger exhaust.

Haha. There is another guy who makes nice exhaust on eBay. The difference though is this andrei guy has smaller mandrels and can make tighter bends. The original steel header I got from him will be used on another kart.

I agree, "Andrei" on eBay does excellent work. I ordered a pipe for my go cart and then the same kind of pipe for my dad's Baja a year or so later, and it looked nearly identical. Pretty impressive to be able to be such a consistent fabricator!
