$25 Go Kart...what is it..?

Thanks Hellion! It’s an ugly kart alright, but who could pass it up for just $25, you know?

I really appreciate you guys helping me solve the mystery, so I now know what I’m dealing with!

Not sure what I want to do with it yet. I had got it moving under it’s own power (Very sketchy, I might add.) with a performance 212 I had built. It would absolutely scream!

That is, until the wheel sheared itself off of the axle.

So now I need an axle. And some more wheels. And a new engine, since the predator blew up as well.

Maybe it’s bad luck.

I can only give you a hard time on the kart's looks but you win hands-down on scoring that bargain.
25 dollars! I'm jealous.
But it's not your fault on the bad looks anyway, right?

Hey man, can you give us a post mortem on the poor Predator? I guess it became the prey this time huh? Buzzards got it.

Tell us what 'went south'. Show us pics of the carnage, etc. I think destroyed engine porn is a thing...

Ohhh, I know how that feels. An ugly kart from the PO.
I kinda feel sorry for ya, but my kart did cost 2.4x as much!
But yeah, , we're nosy by nature, so we want to know what the carnage is!

In the pursuit of speed, we had removed the governor right out of the box, so that should sum it up!

But what happened was after the wheel had sheered off, “Kevin” was a sitting duck. My friend and I decided to see what RPM range would produce the most power with our custom intake, exhaust, and other misc mods.

Long story short, the Rod had detonated and began bouncing around the crankcase, shearing the Cam, Crank, and ripping the entire bottom out of the piston.

(It had a Roadkill sticker on it at the time, point proven.)

It was a sorry sight, and a huge let down. I took what was useable, and now the block currently serves as a stool on projects that stand lower than 3 ft!

Now it’s really an “Exploded Diagram!”

looks just like someone installed 18lbs springs before installing a billet con rod ...

I hope noone but 'feelings' got hurt in the process

Yep, stock con rod ...and the governor is still in the block(!)
I thought you took that out, Willy?

Maybe you meant you bypassed it instead of removal?
It apparently did not contribute to the engine's catastrophic destruction, but still. I like to take out those worthless (for my purposes) low oil sensors too.
