Scrap Pile Kart- Part 2

I am back. Didn't end up finishing my kart last year mostly because I was unhappy withe the end product. I decided to go full suspension as I am too old for a solid rear end! Also I am going bigger as the 205cc was just not enough once I added the 18" rear tires for ground clearance. Found a great condition Briggs 8hp (319cc) to push this cart along. Here are some pictures of the rear suspension setup that I made last week and how she sits now. Also a pic of where I left off last year. Will keep updated as I finish.

That's a *cough* interesting roll bar you have there.

JT, currently no roll bar on the kart but will be bending up something before paint.

So got the Briggs mounted up to find out that it will need a rebuild this winter. Guess that's what you get for a cheap craigslist purchase. Anyway, had a 7hp Tecumseh sitting around that I knew was good so I mounted that up. Got it doing 28mph with about 450# gross weight. I am ready for sanding and painting, added some mud flaps for fun. I will post up when the paint is done.

Landuse, I have had a bunch of test runs since I started building the kart. I have changed engines 4 times and changed brake setup a couple times. I will probably change something before I am done lol

What a weird looking throttle setup....Them tec's and some briggs... just unnecessarily complicated....

Oh... a point of concern..... You shouldnt have a Lap belt without a Proper roll cage......
Your supposed to be thrown out without the machine landing/staying on you, while underneath...

Yea it looks more complicated than it looks. Easy way to make a winter motor into a small season motor.
I had a roll bar on it but removed it while modifying the cart. I am unsure if t will go back on.
