Ok removing the gov. involves opening up the engine removing the gov. gear and then re doing the throtal set up. Porting it out means you make the intake and the exhaust bigger so it flowes more. you also have to take the engine down sand it down and then smooth it up with scottch britte.

Not to be a jerk but, if you don't know how to put the engine back together, what makes you think that you need to go faster? If you break something at a higher speed, how are you going to fix it? Like Tyler said, gotta start somewhere.

lol u was an 11 year old junior dragster.

We dont run 3 HP briggs on the Juniors. There all based off the 5 HP STYLE of block. And about not knowing how to take a engine apart. Its like anything else you take apart for the first time. Remove the obvious bolts retaining that object and remove parts and observe how they go back. Realy its just a few sidecover bolts and it looks pretty simple to put back together. Just put things back exactly how they came apart.

yea i know i just dont wanna mess anything up that i cant fix.if something in the engine breaks im gonna have someone look at it.i got uncles who can teach me my way around an engine.im just trying to stay away from messing with it untill i know what im doing.the most i can do is play with intake and exhaust probly

yeah, like Jr. said. just put it back together they way it came apart lol
taking pics along the way is a good idea!! for governor linkages is a really good idea, they can get kinda complex lol
make sure you watch what bolts go where, some are longer than others, and should be put in the same hole they came out of.

but you should deff avoid the temptation to use hammers to disassemble the engine lol
well, there is a few proper uses for a hammer... but make sure you ask someone with experience before you try lol
other tools to avoid.. hack saws, wire cutters.... cutting torches... that kinda thing! lol

you can always post pics if you have questions, we will help you out :)

I think he means like a turbocharger? except its more like, you use the exhaust to spin a blower, to create intake pressure, using fresh air, not your exhaust fumes.... Forced Induction

ohh i get it.what parts do i need for that?. i have a blower head.my exhaust is a tank with holes in it do i need to take that off?

I think he means a DEI system:

Did anyone else read that topic on another forum, before it got deleted? Funniest thing I've EVER read on a forum.

Sounds promising! Why did i never think of it?! Now i should just attach a hose to my but, with a valve directly to the intake for a super natural gas turbo boost! :roflol:

Khariag, turbo charging aint gonna be easy, for the most part, a small engine doesnt have the exhaust pressure needed for powering any turbo chargers that you can buy, so you would have to make your own custom, then you would have to upgrade you engine's main components so it can handle the extra air/fuel, then you would want to take out the governor to take advantage of the performance boost...its just not worth it, for all that effort you could get yourself a nice sled or MC engine.
