Man, you put duct tape on it, that's gonna be THE strongest part of the bike. It ain't NEVER gonna break ........ Get your friend a six-pack and have him lathe you up a nice metal spindle with a parkerized grip for the rear wheel. (He gets it AFTER he's done, okay?) I like the idea of the spring mount on the engine, too .......

You could still do the "tie the string to your leg"' bit, but I think making a gas pedal would be just as fun, too. Use a mousetrap - it already has the return spring on it! :roflol

well, the duct tape is around the spindle (ill take pics before i ride it around, then after lol) so it might get burnt a little when it slips. (but i hear duct tape has asbestos-like qualities.. right?) lol
idk if any of you noticed, but the wood spindle was burnt for the same reason.

im not old enough to buy alcoholic beverages, lol
you know, im thinking maybe using the weed wacker engine for the scooter (its really the perfect size), and the snowblower engine for a bmx bike i never ride anymore (i out-grew it) but its still comfortable to sit on, and has a lot better breaks lol.

i almost hate to see the "Ghetto Motor-Scooter" go, but if he could make me two spindles with some scrap he has around, that would be awesome, and i could still use scrap wood, cause its just ghetto, and i like it that way lol.

as far as my research found.. in Michigan, any two-wheeled motorised vehicle over 2HP, or 50cc (whichever comes first) is considered a motorcycle, and would need lights and licencing to use on roads, so that snowblower engine would be perfect for goofing around on the side streets.

i do like the string idea, and for a "most ghetto" contest, i would use it, but the problem is that if you twitch the wrong way, yer at full throttle! lol

and a flame thrower isnt really "ghetto".. its more of "just plain awesome" :D

idk for sure, id guess somewhere around 15-20 miles per hour, i gotta find out sometime, but at the top speed, the engine sounds like it can give a little more. lol

i got it working again today. (duct tape DOES fix everything!! :roflol: )
but then the throttle came loose when i was getting a vid of it, so it wasn't going full speed.. thats an easy fix, and will have it working again later today!
hopefully i can get a good vid, and post it soon.

you mean the support on the side of the scooter opposite of the engine? (right side)

is that an actual term, or are you making jokes about supportive undergarments? lol

Lol I'm being serious. Just a bit different then my Girdle :roflol:

And yes it is actually called a crankshaft Girdle.
