Seriously can you imagine... I only paid 99bucks for a new mattress.
So Add
$11.00 fee
$9.00 tax
and $85.00 actual legal disposal.
Lets see that is $105 for a $99 purchase!

You just cant make this stuff up!

Or put them in the front yard with a $50 price tag on them.
They'll be gone by morning.

Dang I'd move. Since we are voting, popular vote doesn't seem to matter and the election here is rigged. I'd say just "loosely" tie it to the roof of the vehicle and go 90 down a desserted gravel road and whatever happens happens.

Now was that $11 each or for both on the same tab?

A few years ago at a large community festival, I went and complained to a PR booth of the hydro power company about the lack of advertisements about the proper disposal of all those "now meant to be legally only aloud bulbs", within their campaigns to promote the use of them in the first place...
They weren't used to a person knowledged in them and potentially how dangerous they are. The biggest eye opener was when I asked "what to do If I drop a bulk pack of bulbs off of a higher shelf on the floor", kinda looked like a deer in the headlights.....
Then were shocked to hear me say, fire and hazmat to be called... minimum evacuations and the potential of the building to be condemned and decommissioned to a hazerdous waste facility somewhere in an old coal mine in the states(I have a brother inlaw that works haz-mat they send all that there.)......

yaaaa........... go twisty bulbs... wave of the future if I can think that far clearly......

Off topic:

I've tried the stupid cheap LED bulbs and they work pretty well, but after a month of being on a ceiling fan, they started flickering like crazy. Tried them in other lamps and same thing, so not a grounding issue or anything like that. Far as florescent bulbs go for recycling, our county has a Household hazardous waste facility and takes them for free, long as you reside within that county (they check your DL). Occasionally they'll take mattresses and tires. But the stupid place has been closed for construction since November 2016 and was supposed to open last month. Don't they have those in the People's Republic of Kalifornia?

They have Mattressdisposalplus.com in Ca. A state partner. 85 dollar fee to take a mattress on top of the state 11 dollar fee.

So NO!
And What are "Cheap LEDs" those are like 6 to 11 dollar bulbs out here.
and remember the old light bulbs "incandescent" they were 64cents a 4 pack.
Where is the savings???

Yeah the $4.88 LED last me about a year longer than the florescent bulbs or incandescent bulbs. But nowhere the actual savings. Maybe if I used them for only a few hours vs 8 hours I may see the savings but not the way I use them.

There was an episode of Dirty Jobs and Mike had matress disposal and I believe that was in California. Think a bit of napalm is in order for used mattresses.

Oh not to worry.
The "Disposal" company recycles the steel springs and uses the "funk infested" foam to make carpet padding.
Now imagine what is in that "recycled carpet pad" you just paid to have under you new rugs! ACK:ack2:
On a family Friendly site I cannot describe the contents of "Mattress stains":surrender:
