Hey whats going on folks? I'm new from Oklahoma City as you can see by the title. I am especially new to karts. I have quite a few various little projects laying around that I am working on. My normal jump and go is a Baja Warrior with a Predator 212cc and TAV2 along with a custom exhaust.
I recently acquired 2 Doodlebug frames that I have swapped X18 Front wheels on as a start to Christmas projects for my daughters, 9 and 6. The 9 year old is stoked for a mini bike, but alas the 6 year old decided she wanted a Kart instead.
I have had a Razor Dirt Buggy for a few years that the kids have outgrown so I took it on as a project for the youngest. I pulled it onto the porch today, chopped the rear end apart, and tack welded a rear end that I had laying around onto the previous supports.
I have figured out that it came with an odd axle size as the axle is a bit over an inch in the center, turned down to 22mm, and finally finishes off around 3/4". Its an oddball for sure. I have found new bearings on amazon that will allow me to run a 3/4" keyed axle.
I am planning on running a 3/4" live axle with the sprocket on the left and disk brake on the right. I also plan to use Riding Mower rear wheels for a nice beefy size and Riding Mower front wheels as the fronts. The issue that I am having at the moment is figuring out how to install the Mower wheels on the rear. I haven't ordered anything as of yet so everything is still up in the air.
I am open to suggestions as well. Pic of said project is below. Right now it is mocked up with a 3/4" weldable rod passing thru with the mower fronts slid on. I am thinking 36" axle to give it some good width out back and I will build my own spindles up front as well. Look forward to hearing from you folks.
