Well, with this uncommon sub- freezing temperatures here, I decided to get my spring veggies started.

I planted a whole bunch of different peppers and tomatoes, now I'm going to have to get my sun room ready for when they get bigger.

I'm already under the gun a bit, as I rescued 3 pepper plants and a tomato by transplanting from the garden to gallon pots, which are hanging out in my kitchen for the time being.

I also have 3 artichoke plants I started from seed that grow big very quickly as well.

The upside is, this cold ( sub-freezing weather) will be gone in a few days. (The extended forecast calls for a high of 68°f on February 12!)

Not a problem, but you'll have to come to Texas to get it. The problem is we aren't built for it, the frost line is only 7" in Ft. Worth, and that's NORTH Texas!

Far south Texas almost never freezes, probably 70-80°f there now.

Edit: I was wrong, the cold front actually hit there, it's only 60°f there now, but it'll be 72° tomorrow.

One of the first and most important things in any restoration is documentation. A lot of time can pass between disassembly and reassembly. And you would be surprised at the smallest, simplest things can have you scratching your head and kicking yourself in the behind for half a day. Sooooooo- pictures- and plenty of them. It's really easy to do now. Back in the olden days- we had to have a camera, buy film, shoot pictures and not even know if we got them or not, then pay to get them developed and finally (maybe) had documentation.

Next- managing parts: again- SO much better. Ziploc baggies. Bargain brands are fine. Just write what they are on the bag with a Sharpie. The more the merrier- in other words- the more bags you use and the less you put in them, the less chance of confusion during final assembly.

The big box- try to keep everything together- in one or two boxes. You'll be glad you did......Well maybe not- but speaking from experience- you may very well be extremely sorry you didn't.

Ok- So that's a little start- I'll start posting up specific techniques and such as time allows...... And this is my baby here- but by no means a dictatorship. So anyone, anytime. ....feel free to chime in with ideas or criticism- or just why you feel like kicking the dog today.

Me too. I got some hardware form Fastenal on the last couple of builds, and they put it in the heaviest duty Zip lock backs I have ever seen.
Very handy.
I also used a bunch of old medium size coffee cans in the past.
Those are handy cause they are big enough for axle hangars and other large parts.
