So I bought a project, a Manco Scorpion 606? I think...need to look at the plate again. This is a father daughter project...
The original 192cc Subaru engine is a boat anchor as the PO left the gas cap off and left it sit out in the weather (if someone can use it for parts, let me know). The PO also took the engine off and torque converter apart. I think I have all the pieces, will get to that later. Overall, it's complete and in good shape.
The plywood supporting the seats was rotten, so I used a couple pieces of 1" PVC foam board to replace the rotted plywood. Pulled the seats, pulled the staples, had to guess about shape of the base and was able to use the back as a template...turned out very good. Shouldn't need to worry about rot for a while...
I bought a Predator today, to replace the Subaru engine. I'm hoping the bases are the same, the crank seems the same, looks like it should be a fairly easy swap.
The torque converter is in pieces, does anyone have a good IPL diagram? I think I have all the pieces, the PO seems to have bagged everything up. I think it's a 30 with a asymmetric belt. I know the driven pulley needs the bumpers.
The chain is rusted but still flexible...the sprockets have wear, so I'm soaking the chain in ATF and I'm going to run it as it is. I'll replace the sprockets and chain later.
More to come...I could probably have it together this week short the torque converter pieces.
