Engine Chump
I recently got a Go Kart (Manco EZ Rider GL) with a Tecumseh OHH60 6 hp. I thought since hid had most likely never been done, that I should clean the carb. After doing so, it would not start. I then found that I had not put back in a necessary gasket and lost it. So I bought a new carb for 13 dollars and I put it in today. The engine doesn't start. I use the prime bulb 10 times, then I yank on the cord to no avail (after 10 presses on the prime bulb it used to fire right up on first pull). So I used some starter fluid, and it started right up, but had a rough idle and seemed to be running at low RPM. So I screwed the idle screw all the way in, and then twisted it out one turn. Still, no start without starter fluid. I then started it with starter fluid, to which it ran normal, with some puttering (almost seemed as if it was surging). So I let it warm up, then I got on. Any amount of pressing on the throttle pedal would result in the engine dying out, but not completely shutting off. I slowly eased on it (almost millimeter by millimeter) to which it would be very rough. I made it down my drive way (about 150 feet) and turned around. I then repeatedly tapped my foot all the way down on the throttle, which worked slightly (very rough but was able to make it back to the garage) I have no clue what is wrong, and it is very annoying not having a Go Kart during the peak time to use it. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
