Your drive shafts are long enough to connect to the diff? I admire the work you've done so far. Did you decide on an engine?

thanks, the DS's BARELY make it to the yokes

as for engine, since this is my high school senior project (don't worry not a senior yet) I want to do something "innovative/new" or whatever so this thing is gonna be 'lectric

this is the power system I've decided on, IK the price is steep

anyone with electric power systems knowledge, please chime in

wow its been a while, guess i'll dig up my thread

the car thing has been moved to my shop so work space is much tighter

the rear axle has been built and shocks are on the way, very close to being a roller. definitely will not be using such wide tires in back

only this pic for now, more to come

Another update, the front suspension is done as well as the rear, now to mount the diff. Figured out how to attach the vw axles to the bmw diff, I had a machine shop bore the flanges from 5/16 to 3/8 and they fit perfect now

shock clears axle

Axles reach barely, diff mounts being created now

Does anyone see how else I could power this? Just wondering if a single speed could be done on this scale with an engine?

If it will be electric you can just attach the output of your EV motor directly to the axle! No clutch needed!

84hp will be sick man, can't wait to see this done!!

Could find an old rear wheel bug and use the engine and transmission. Or make a manual clutch on a small gas engine and put a sprocket on the rear diff to the engine with a #420 chain.

Exhaust enters the turbo, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

There is no rear diff
