Just got through eating some breaded butterfly shrimp. I got them from Dollar Tree. 6 shimp for $1! These were 'Ocean Wave' brand. It's hard to go wrong with that!

But!!!!! I've been eating Texas Gulf brown shrimp! Even though the browns I've been eating are bait shrimp quality....there's really no comparison!

These shrimp are farm raised Vietnamese shrimp...and....compared to Texas Gulf browns....taste like dipping a paper towel in cocktail sauce! !!!!

I'm not saying they're bad...as much as I am the Texas Browns are that good!

What IS good....and almost unbeatable....is Vietnamese catfish! Sometimes sold as 'Basa'...other times 'Swai" (same fish)....they are as good as flounder, cod, or whatever! !! Much better than farm raised American catfish. Only one or two fish can beat them....(and you can't get them from the grocery store!)

When I was 5 I was at my grandparents house helping them can peppers. Grandpa would cut the peppers in half and I would scoop the guts out and Grandma would do the actual canning. Well Gramps kept telling me to wear the rubber gloves or "I'd be sorry" but me being 5 years old and knowing everything refused to wear them, they were just too big. Well as luck would have it after I got done scooping peppers I had to pee so I went upstairs to the bathroom and proceeded to do just that. About half way through that process I felt a horrible burning sensation where there should not ever be one, if you know what I mean. It seems Grandma and Grandpa knew what was going to happen when I went upstairs and had followed me up, good thing too! Grandma just picked me up cloths and all and threw me in the bathtub with the cold water running. Well I survived the incident and never defied my Grandfather again. I still remember the pain! :smiley_omg:

Shoulda sat down...small price to pay to be teased by Chancer....right?

BTW: That's what is so cool about 'Fooled You' peppers: they're jalapenos with absolutely no heat...so...you just wash them....poke them with a fork....and add one mild pepper in the jar....PAINLESS!

Time to make the menudo! I mean....it's good anytime...but I just want some now!!!

I normally make it a couple of times over the winter...(it's awesome in cold weather! )

Soooo....this year....well...we didn't have one!!!! Seriously, warmest winter on record! So, I'm making it tonight! And I got exta pigs feet to throw in....mmmmmn....I'm hungry already!

EDIT: So....anyone adventurous to try this: Google up Menudo recipes, and 'No Recipes' version is really close to how I make it...with a few variations: first there are two kinds of tripe; the normal tripe and the honeycomb. I prefer the honeycomb. Secondly, I start off boiling the tripe with just plain water, a little salt and vinegar. I barely bring it to a boil...then turn off the fire. I normally do TWO boils because the first one usually leaves a little too much cow poop smell.

Third:%

It was...she escaped one time and that's where I found her...so I put it in her cage and she loves it. It's her favorite hide.

What's really funny is snakes have an excellent sense of smell!!! Why she likes one of my stinky old sneakers is beyond me....but....pets are funny!

EDIT: Here's something to make you go hmmmmm?

Dogs have a sense of smell like 200 times better than us or something.....but they stick their nose in dog poop! C'mon...MAN I'm standing up...and I tell it's dog poop from HERE! LOL.

I used to have a Dog that would steal 1 shoe at night. He did not chew it up, he just slept with it! Leave you searching for 1 shoe in the Morning.

Yep....Abby...a black chow mix....would get one little piece of dog food...walk 12' to the opening between the kitchen and hallway...lay down...chew it up....then go get another piece! Over and over!

Chickadees are like that. They'll come to a feeder....grab a sunflower seed, fly off and eat it in a tree....then come back for another.

Some bluejays though, will half swallow a peanut, then grab another one....I once saw one get 3 at once...(whole peanuts!!!)

You never know where the Poboy mind is gonna wander....but I'm always looking for humor wherever I go....

Soooo.....I'm researching scrap prices and there's a chart of prices: and these two came up in this order:

Reefer ends- $0.48 per pound
Aluminum cans-$0.48 per pound

Take from that what you will....(it made me giggle! )

EDIT: BTW: Supposed to get my twitching lures tomorrow or the next few days....you could substitute "Poboy" for twitching lure in the ads:

Announcing a revolutionary new fishing lure (fisherman) ....that the experts say catches too many fish. It's so effective it's been banned in some sites.....(errrrr....States)....

(It lights up....shakes and twitches! .....just like me!) "Drives the fish (mods) crazy! "
