:wai::wai::wai: Excited!!! So here is the story...

After I got on the bus yesterday morning my neighbor asks me if I am interested in selling my broken down Rebel kart, I say I'll take a 100$ for it and he says yes. This morning I get the money and the Go-Kart is his. So about a week ago a guy down the street says he's trying to sell a 2 seater Go kart with a roll cage, I jump right on the offer and ask how much he wants The answer I got was 75$ with the motor that only has a stuck throttle cable. I will upload pictures soon!!! I am Buying this go kart for sure!! I think I won on this one!

Simplest check is to disconnect the cable from the carb and see if it's sticking at either and go from there.

Depends on what's stuck.
If the cable itself is gunked up, you may be able to remove the cable from the sheath.
Try spraying carb cleaner through it followed by air if you have a compressor and air gun.
If you don't, a can of the stuff you use to blow the dirt out of your computer keyboard should work, you want to blow the gunk out and dry the inner part of the sheath.
After than shoot some WD40 in it and put the cable back in and see if it moves freely.
If the problem is at the carb it may take some more detective work if it's more than the linkage sticking.
If it's just crud binding the linkage do as you did the cable - spray it with carb cleaner (avoid the plastic parts!...brake cleaner is often safer as it's less caustic), blow it with air and hit it with WD.
The more details you provide the better we can help you.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this advise.....but....this is just me.....It's a bit like taking a cab from Los Angeles to El Paso.....it'll get you there. ....but why not rent a car? ?????

What I am referring to is the WD-40......it's not like I don't use the crap out of it and have for years......a shot of PB Blaster. ....down that cable will keep working weeks after WD has called it a day.......

WD-40 is a water dispersant; it's basically deodered kerosene with dispersant additives. Very useful to have a can around, but it was never intended as a lubricant. And while I am not thrilled with the smell of PB Blaster, I keep several cans around because it works and it's one heck of a bargain for the price. Just be aware that it attracts dirt like any other oil.

I have PB Blaster too! I've always loved it! and yes WD-40 Is not a lubricant, I just thought it would help remove rust or whatever that was stuck in there. But after spraying WD-40 I will for sure spray some PB in there.

You guys are right, I should have said PB as that's what I'd use but I said WD as that's what he mentioned in his original post.

Didn't mean to imply any fault on your part.
To be honest, if I was cleaning a cable and found I was out of PB and had some WD, I'd use it to see if I was on the right track.
Auto parts has plenty of PB, they didn't make one can and quit! ;)

I have a full can with the 20% more special. So I'll have plenty for a while, That stuff also works great on getting lawnmower blades off.

Update #1

Well its been a long weekend, still no go-kart. The guy wanted his money back, and he wasn't giving me an option to keep his money. I wasn't going to give it back and thats what I told him, Then he started giving me hints about giving it back, he mentioned his new 9mm pistol:surrender:. So I gave it back, I shouldn't of gotten involved with him. So i'm broke again, And I stayed that way until yesterday when I was offered a Xbox 360 for my broken rebel kart:wai:. This is just what the guy said he wanted to trade for his kart, I should be picking it up soon!

Wait a minute.... Am I getting this right -
Your neighbor asked to buy your kart.
He agreed to your price.
The sale was made.....then he wanted his money back and when you properly told him a deal was a deal he starting talking about his firearm?
Glad it worked out but it sounds like your neighbor is a world class rectal orifice and from here on out I wouldn't have anything to do with him.
(In all honesty, I have enough redneck left in me what I'd probably do is act like nothing happened...and then commiserate
with him months later when all sorts of unexplained problems beset him....trying not to laugh.)
