Umm, no, although America has some large gators, I don't think they get up to 7 metres do they?

no not seven, but six..
And that's why I said "more massive"
I had the (maybe wrong) impression that a crocodile is -compared to an alligator- rather skinny looking.
But all crodilies I've seen yet have been nile crocodiles (~4m max)
So that might be wrong for your johnson crocs you have down there...

Crikey
It's a woglnagla snake
It's venom kills a man in 15secs and strike without warning
Let's poke it with a short stick

Steve Irwin
Funny bloke
Unfortunate death

It's general knowledge that we have the biggest crocs

If the species can kill
Then the most effective version will be Aussie

Steve Irwin once said crikey. lol i thing he said it more thin once. :)

And the only green those maps have in common is that little spot on the south panhandle on the croc map....crikey!

I'm not sure that finger on the gator map that extends into north Texas is long enough to reach the west side of Ft Worth. I've been meaning to drive out on the lake road and snap a pick of the gator warning signs. They are breeding and expanding their range here.

I'll say! That gator has no idea where that hands been...:lolgoku:

Oh- about those warning signs: they basically say that you are near an alligator breeding ground and not to go any further. It then says it's a federal crime to molest breeding alligators. Which makes me wonder if there is a site I can go to to see if there are any convicted alligator molesters living in my neighborhood. :smiley_omg:

Oooooookay.....thought I'd revive this thread. ..... just to make sure some members from undisclosed countries. ... .cough cough....weenk ...weenk..Heeenglang.....spit....sorry....had something sticking in my crop.... ( or craw".... depending on your locality and education. .........

This is what this thread is all about. ......my friends...we must embrace our differences. ....not turn them against each other .....for it is diversity that makes life worth living.......

Now. ....somewhere recently. ...someone mentioned squab.........now probably not one in a thousand Americnans even knows what that is. .....and an even smaller percentage of those that do.....have ever eaten one. ..... (I have)........

Anyway.....some of the things to talk about.......I have never seen a patridge in a pear tree.......in a meat market....or on the "hoof"...so to speak.... (alive)......and I'm a guy that kinda chases down the out of ordinary culinary oddities. .......

so you seem to be very hungry lately..
You should have yourself checked on diabetes my friend.
I know.. but get a quicktest for a few pennies in the nearest drugstore at least;
just to be sure everythings alright.

Now squab.. young pigeon right?
No.. never eaten an air rat ;)

let me guess: "tastes like chicken" ?:D

partridge on the other hand I tried (in one of those fancy restaurants)
it was good, nothing I'd be eager to spend money on again, but it was indeed much better than say chicken ;)

I think it's because there are more fast twitched fibres in their muscles compared to a chicken.
Anyways... if you find one and it's not too expensive try it at least once.
if it's going to cost a fortune -to me- it's not worth it ;)

Woo Hoo! I'm 1 in 1,000!
Marinate the breast in Italian dressing for 24 hours, sprinkle with course ground black pepper, wrap in hickory smoked bacon with a toothpick and grill. Perhaps with some fava beans and a nice chianti?

C'mon up, Poboy, we got partridge. We got pear trees. Alas, no partridge IN a pear tree. However, they do favor the wild plum bushes, as do pheasant.

If you go back and look at some of his post's in other thread's over the last couple of months, I believe there was one titled "Has anyone eaten this?". It might have been around one of the times he got banned. I'm not going to look for it, because we're trying to keep the place family friendly.....

From what I've read, you've hit the nail on the head when it comes to the urban " flying rat" (pigeons); which makes Tony's response just as viable as your's as to why Doug seems to be thinking with his stomach lately.....

...or a tapeworm :lolgoku:

What gets me is that I posted in his cooking thread just how worried I was about what critters Doug would recommend for possible sources of "meat" in his recipes......:ack2: :ack2: :surrender: :smiley_omg:

That's unbelievable. .......why have I never seen one....alive or dead?????

As unlikely as it is. ....I've caught a pheasant in my next door neighbor's backyard. ..... (none around here naturally)......seen an otter swimming in a creek..... (again....unnatural. ...).....and for the longest time. ..no one would believe me when I said I saw a bald eagle. ...but it has now been documented they are nesting on the lake.....which makes me wonder why I have only seen one once?

It's not that I see everything. ....I try but these women and their curtains.....:lolgoku:

But I have yet to see an alligator. .....

:backtotopic: this about crumpets and tea and such.....biscuits and chips??????

And whatever they call those cement creeks.......I can't remember. .......but I will know it when I hear it. .....

And. ....yes guys.....I haven't been eating enough lately.....you'd be surprised how much teeth help in that endeavor. ......

I'm still cooking and trying.....but I can barely eat enough to feed the tapeworm. ........I must rely on liquid nutritional supplements these days. ........

Some days I literally spend 3 hours eating.....I used to be able to wolf down food in the blink of an eye......no more. ....doesn't help that my metabolism is such that it takes a ton of calories. .....just to maintain this 150 lb. frame. ...and a ridiculous amount to raise that........
