I see only very minor flaws ... A near perfect build I'd say

Just one thing.. make perfectly sure that under no circumstances your kid could touch any terminal.
a small battery will be sufficient to cause a bad stroke, so take care.

Thanks guys!
Your point it's true,
I've already have made a battery cover and install a fuse adaptor for car fuses ,and a steel chain cover.

that works properly ;)

just use the Paperclip icon in the Editor, that takes care of the attached images for you :D

but since your attachements have not been saved (most likely you cancelled your post so they haven't been stored permanently)
all your images on this page are gone... :(

Very cool... and it looks like you got the ideal top speed for your kid,
too fast to be annoying, too slow to be scary, just right

Personally I think a remote killswitch (for you) would be good to have,
just to make sure he cannot get anywhere near a potential collision with a moving vehicle.

Great work indeed!

:iagree:
Yes you're right ! I've already have a remote controler from a garage door (for my killswitch) to cutout power from batteries. I'll install it together with some front and rear led lights!
Gο kart's top speed is about 19 klm/hour . I have change motor's 9 teeth gear (11 klm/hour) with an 18 teeth for better top speed. I loose a bit of torque but for my son's 16 kilos its all right!
Also kart's caster angle seems to be working just fine. I have set it (adjustable angle) to the middle (on about 6 degrees ) I have another 6 degrees (12degrees) to test steering torque!

check the range of your garage door opener first, some are very limitid and only work on maybe 5-7m.. you want more like 30-50m ;)

caster indeed looks good from the vids.. but check your Ackermann angles, it looks like the outer wheel turns a little too far; thats more important than the caster..
which only affects the ability of self resetting the steering at speeds that low.

camber is irrelevant for round crosssectioned wheels;
so all that's left is a proper Ackermann angle to make a perfect steering ;)

That kart is Sic!!! (that means, like, really cool) The kid gets it sideways like around 1:22......
Great job man! At first I thought, ehh, not so cool. But now that it's done, sheesh.... Who needs PowerWheels? I'd rather have your kart.....

Well ackermann angle isn't the proper but considering caster angle and wheel's width I think its enought to make that kart turn fast!

My plans for next summer ,is 4 real gokart wheels and a more powerfull brusless motor but with the same geard box (were not looking for top speed but for more torque to play on turns:wai:
Definitely safely faster than any power wheels considering the low center of gravity!

That is a great video, for 2 reasons.....
First, it shows what a bad @$$ you are. I love this thing.....
Second, isn't something to brag about. It's a big safety NO-NO! Your son is leaning OUT on his turns. He NEEDS to be leaning INTO his turns. Even at slow speed, he can be thrown out, by leaning out..... Just want to make sure the little man stays safe. Tell him, if you turn to the right, you lean to the right..... And vice versa.....:cheers2:

Have you thought of a 49cc gas engine. I think it's more exciting.

I got your point and you're right. I shout at him all the time to be serious, but you know kids are doing ''kid '' things all the time .
Do you believe it is proper to make a safety waist belt ?
