Go Kart With Snowmobile Engine Build

So what do you recommend I do, because every idea I come up with is a no, and I'm not buying a predator motor too expensive more expensive than this whole project

This project will be way more expensive that the predator setup if done right.

The predator only has 6.5hp and cost around 160 the 11 hp cost 200 or more, this motor cost 58 dollars plus welding and a trip to the machine shop to cut the keyway probably 70 more dollars

Enough of engine talk I have another problem, how do I get this rusty screw out?

Obviously, you missed my point; do a search for a CC that can handle 40hp...



I wouldn't do that if I were you. PTO shafts are made a certain size for a reason; by reducing the diameter of a shaft, you reduce its breaking (or tensile) strength...

Noram Enforcer clutches will handle up to 40hp and beyond because we are using them with engines with more power than that and yes indeed by reducing the size of the PTO shaft you are pushing the shaft size to failure the adapters I make are made out of 4130 Chrome Moly and they far exceed in tensile strength the materials of a forged steel crankshaft of most two cycle snowmobile engines of 50 hp or less.
I am stating this not saying you are wrong because you are correct I am just adding this to state the fact that indeed this could be done with this engine but in my opinion I think this kart is never going to get off the ground I just see a lot of jaw flapping going on by him.
Show us what you got and don't waste time asking questions when all you do is slap everybody's suggestion down get with it and back up what you are claiming!

Congrats to you! Now you have all the options that everyone has given you and hopefully you can prove to all of us that you mean what you say by making this thing work but I can tell you after 40 years of being a mechanic and many years of racing different machines it is not all about just bolting the biggest engine on a frame that is not strong enough to begin with to handle the added weight and power that this engine will make and in turn make the whole set up handle and turn without oversteer or understeer and the be able to stop the entire mass safely and then also have the guts to drive it safely without getting hurt or worse be careful of what you are doing and heed these warnings from these men with much more insight than you have.

I know, this cart won't be for turning corners on a track, it just for fun, so I don't have to worry too much about oversteer and understeer

Assuming you have tried and stripped the appropriate hex key, try hammering a torx BIT that is only slightly bigger than the hex key that stripped. Slowly try to loosen it. Heat and or penetrating oil always help. Failing that, drill out and use an extractor.:cheers2:
