maybe he can! i measured from the outside of a bar to the middle of the next bar and got 90mm. maybe this can help show what i mean. the period is where i measured and the l l is the bar.

.l l .l l =72mm
.l l l l.= 102mm
i wonder if i can modify the mounts to fit. i just hate to spend $245 dollars on something that i have to modify.
also since its a yz85 i need a #428 chain and axel sprocket. my axel measures 1.25 inches which is 31.75mm. all the sprockets i have found are for a 50mm axel.. this is starting to be a nightmare

Sounds like you need a motormount to fit karts with the American frame rail spacing, that's 2-7/8" (or 73.025mm.) measured center to center.

I couldn't find any listed for a YZ-80/85, but you might try contacting this seller and ask him to measure the frame-rail spacing on his mount: http://www.ebay.com/itm/racing-go-k...131003132420&rk=1&rkt=6&sd=191190693005&rt=nc

I've never been able to find any #428 shifterlart sprockets made to fit 1-1/4" axles, but a couple options would be:

Contact Gokart Galaxy, and ask if they sell 1-1/4" hubs to fit these sprockets: http://gokartgalaxy.com/shifter_kart_&_quarter_midget_sprockets_for_2.htm

Or buy some 30mm shifter sprockets (like these: http://www.kartpartsdepot.com/Holland_made_428_30mm_axle_sprockets_p/kw-kk.htm) and have the bores machined slightly larger, plus have a 1/4" keyway broached in.

And ask if these hubs have the 2.312" bolt circle patern you'd need for those gokartgalexy #428 sprockets.

PS: you'll be wanting your rear sprocket to be somewhere in the 25 to 30 tooth range, I'd choose a 30 tooth for your engine

Also my axel has a sprocket on it from when I had the Briggs motor on it. It splits in half.
I saw on gokartgalaxy where they had some that were split. You think they would fit on it?

Break out your caliper and measure the axle. It will be 31.75mm. That is if it IS 1.25".

You are going to have to measure the bolt holes on your existing hub and match up to the ones at gokartgalaxy

anderkart you are the best! i contacted gokartgalaxy and ordered me a 428 30 tooth split sprocket and a 1 1/4" hub to fit! im so glad it worked! thankyou so much!

as i am waiting for a reply about the engine mount, i need to figure out what to order as far as the 428 chain, shifter arm, and clutch lever. i already have the cables. ill probably need something to change on my steering hub, as i dont see a place to mount it.
i am also clueless on how to mount the shifter arm itself. but i have an idea on how it works as far as turning the shift peg up and running a tie rod. ill take some pictures. thanks!

anderkart- i just got a reply from the seller of the engine mount and it is 30x92mm.

any idea on what to do? should i buy it and have it machined to fit? this is really the only problem i believe i have.

What do I need in order to do the clutch and shifter lever? Also do I need a j arm for my shift pedal or should I turn it up somehow?

You could easily adapt that ebay motormount to fit your frame with 4 of these "Steel Clamps for Burris mounts" : http://www.out2win.com/catalog/mount_chassis.html#clamps (just be sure to select them with the American rail option, not metric)

Those American clamps will fit your frame, and you'd use 2 of them to simply replace the 2 metric bottom-clamps that come with that motormount, and then the other 2 clamps would be installed in-between that motormount and the top of your karts frame rails. You'll need 2 longer bolts, and your engine will end up an extra inch or so higher but it should work just fine.

Only potential problem I can think of is: Any slop in the bolt holes might allow the engine to slightly twist causing sprocket alignment problems, so It'd probably be a good Idea to weld the top clamps to your motormount, but just make sure everything is lined up perfectly square before welding...

alright, i placed a bid on that motor mount. that is probably what i will do... or..
what if i took the motor mount to a machine shop and had them machine one of the holes over 19mm making it 73 mm spacing? ill post a picture of my old mount showing you what i mean.

That'll might be a good idea. Because the more I think about it, I'm a little worried the clamps I suggested might just end up spreading your frame rails and never give a truly tight clamp, because they don't reach around the outside of the frame rails...

i drew with a sharpie where it would be cut. it would wrap around one completely, and the other partially just like the old mount. or maybe i can have them cut it out as a whole chunk and maybe have them weld it on behind it, that way it is not left open. unless that is okay. after all alott of mounts come like that. what you think man?

so i called alden racing components, and they said they are going to call back and get the measurements from me, and that they might be able to machine one for me and ship it to me. i hope this works out! so do i need to give him standard or metric measurements? im alittle worried on what to tell him!

Cool. Might as well have both ready for they're call, but I'd think Alden will be expecting Inch measurements from your frame and metric from the engine.

I have them ready. And I feel very confident with my measurements as well!
I went and measured my frame. And came back and checked with what you told me and we have the exact measurement. It's a 1 1/8" frame and 2 7/8" spacing. In mm that is 28.575 x 73.025. So our measurements match. I'm waiting on their call and then I'll post back and let you all know what I got.

Alright! I just got off the phone with Alden racing! They're making me a custom mount for my frame for a yz85. And its only $189! On shark shifter they have them readily available for other applications for $245. So for them to make a custom one for that price is amazing!

keep in mind i have an emmick frame. (american rail/measurements). when i mezasure it comes out to 0.630 inches. which is only 16mm or 5/8 inch.
the links i posted were for 20mm.
i was thinking if i got the clamp, it might be able to tighten down further. or i could simply put something around the frame to add to the size where the clamp would be placed. or inside the clamp. what do you think anderkart?
