Yeah that's the problem with most all shifterkart parts, they're made for newer metric karts. But before you try adapting that 20mm clutch lever, try searching (and contacting) some of the QRC/Outlaw kart parts shops in this search link: https://www.google.com/search?q=vin...=1024&bih=643&dpr=1#q=qrc+kart+parts&start=10
QRC/Outlaw karts run motocross/shifter engines, and I noticed some of them sell 5/8" steering shaft components... I'll bet they can hook you up

Most factory shifterkarts come with brackets welded-on to mount the shift lever. I couldn't find any shops selling clamp-on type mounting brackets, but you might ask some of those QRC parts shops about that too.

Have you already checked out this thread:
http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4742
Rickracer posted a lot of good info/pics about building his shifterkart out of a very similar chassis as yours...

Alright, I kind of lost hope and just went ahead and ordered me a lever and shifter arm.. I figured I'd weld a bracket somehow.. I'll call Qrc and see if they have something. And if so maybe I can cancel my order haha

That's exactly what I was thinking! I just didn't know what to use! I ended up buying this foe 20 bucks. thinking I could adapt it with a metal bracket. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1401976753.666223.jpg

What shift lever did you order?

I was looking at your frame pics and thinking you might be able to make some shift-lever mounting brackets that would simply bolt onto to your (front) seat mounting brackets...

Possibly just a couple heavy stainless steel straps with a twist, kinda like this pic, but with the length and bends needed to fit that shifter:

Oh gosh, I didn't know I needed a hub:( I figured I'd just weld a price of metal coming off my frame that I could bolt it to. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1401977885.873103.jpg here's a pic of the shift lever. I hope I didn't mess up by ordering them:(

Okay. And thanks! I thought so to! So does the shifter arm work kindof like a hinge? It looks by the way it mounts by the two bolts that it would swing to shift. But I'm sure once you have the tie rod on it it would feel different.

I also got my hub and sprocket in the mail. I ordered a 5qt aluminum fuel tank and 15ft of clear fuel line (I got clear instead of colored so I could see the fuel).ImageUploadedByTapatalk1401980790.200627.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1401980812.564722.jpg Also have a round mikuni fuel pump in my kart I'm about to order.
Also as far as my chain goes. On shark shifter they sell them as 60link chains. Should I order that now so I can have it ready? Or should I wait for my engine mount to come in so I can measure and order exactly what I need? I don't have a chain breaker.

Yeah 60-link should be long enough, and then (if needed) you could always shorten the chain by grinding off the flaired end of a pin, and then driving it out with a small center punch or nail.

Hey whats the name & part number of that gokartgalaxy axle sprocket hub you got?

I don't know the name or part number. But it's made by Azusa engineering! I believe it's a mini bike hub. And then the sprocket of coarse is a 428 split sprocket. Why do you ask? I could call and ask if you'd like to know exactly.

Cool, no biggy. I just wanted to know the part number to avoid confusion and help out anyone else needing one in the future.

The hub you got looks like they're:
"Steel Mini-Hub, 1 1/4" Bore. Two bolt circles, 4 hole, 3.228" (P5223) and a new 4 hole, 2.875" (P5263). For 1 1/4" live axles with 1/4" keyway."
on this page: http://gokartgalaxy.com/uni-hubs_&_vari-hubs.htm

But according to their sites info, the bolt-circle pattern size of their: #428 split shifterkart sprockets,
(on this page: http://gokartgalaxy.com/shifter_kart_&_quarter_midget_sprockets_for_2.htm)
Is: ("4 bolts with a 2.312" bolt circle"), and that bolt pattern size doesn't seem to match that sprocket hub, or any others listed on their site...

Huh, that's odd. It does fit though! But it is very tight! It's weird though because it came shipped from Azusa instead of gokartgalaxy. Also I just got my pro circuit exhaust and silencer in the mail! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1401991042.887459.jpg

I finished up painting my kart and I got my engine mount in and it's a perfect fit! I got it mounted on the kart along with the new sprocket, chain, j arm, exhaust, and gas tank. Look like my shifter rod is to long. Could I cut it? I'm not sure if it's threaded all the way through or not. I'm also unsure about where to tap the fuel line, and what fitting to use. I have a mukini duel outlet. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1402582270.056040.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1402582324.510050.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1402582324.510050.jpg

If you unscrew/remove the ends of your shifter rod, you could use a peice of bailing wire/coat hanger to probe inside and feel how how far its threaded.

I''m posting from my phone and cant see your pics very well, but if your fuel tank has more than 1 fitting, the tap (or supply) fitting will be the only one with a fuel pickup hose running down to the bottom of the tank.

Thanks man! I'll just cut it to the length I need and tap it with an 8mm. I was talking about the pulse line the you tap into the intake/carb.
