Oh right, it probably wasn't the wig thing ;)

Well who was the fifth president.. Monroe, right?
Wait, the american revolution when was that? 17killthatcat?
So I say Monroe was the last president who actually was part of that revolution.
Adams was too young, correct?

Actually you already answered the question correctly. Which makes me wonder if sometimes you aren't more lucky than smart!

The first 5 presidents had no middle name.

:roflol:

And it was my first answer... :wai:

Yes, I'd call that a very lucky guess.

[EDIT]
Wait, maybe my picture is misleading to some degree..
there are more such rectangles .. just not on the picture, the row is at least twice as large.

do monkeys fling poo at the zoo?

Did you know that throwing in general is actually a sign of intelligence?
Odd, isn't it.

The brain region involved is the same as it is for writing and communication in general,
thus, an animal that is capable of throwing, has a higher grade of communication, than his non throwing relatives.

There was an article about that topic that I read a few weeks ago.
Pretty interesting.

Also, a wild, untrained elephant is capable of interpreting you pointing in a direction.
you point, he looks there.
Animals, huh?

Sorry what was the question?

the bubbles are steam, because the pot is hottest on the bottom,
also it's not perfect (neither the pot nor the oven) if it were, there would be just ONE bubble, and that'd be dangerous ;)
That's why you should be cautious when heating water in a glass cup in the microwave,
if the cup is perfectly clean there will be NO bubbles at all, and the water can heat up to well over its boiling point.
as soon as you take it out and put a spoon in or something it will get 'interesting' ;)

similarities??
aggregate state, well for the steam part of the boiling water that is;
and you need to add energy.

I missed Tony earlier..

so that was three already :(

Well then,

lateral as in "at the side" you're looking at the sides of ten characters (A-J) and there are more than ten of course ;)

strich_fehlt.jpg

see it now?
5.4 needs a line to make the 'middle bar' of an E complete.

I don't know about you guys- you gotta look at the alphabet sideways?

Well here's one that could get me banned- what was the Dicken fruit stand's most popular product?

No doubt. It was my misfortune in life to be born a younger brother to a guy meaner and crazier than me-(and that ain't easy).

So we were at a zoo where the monkeys were on an island. They had a vending machine you could get a box of monkey food from. We gave them a a couple of full boxes of food. (While maybe not completely out of the ordinary-certainty different. )

So being the abnormal little ahose we were we started putting rocks in the empty boxes laying around and threw them over.

Sure enough-funny as that was- they attempted to retaliate by throwing s at us- but the distance was too great.

Trick question - it's an S no abbreviation
(that's why there shouldn't be a dot in "Harry S Truman" ) ;)

Isn't it a little unfair to ask the german about us-specific trivia and/or history??

'sid

.... hmmm i actually thought it was 'Simpson'... must be thinking someone else...

I would think it very fair to ask questions about YOU.... see us means me while U.S. can mean United States or a number of other things. LOL.

Gotcha that time Sid! Lost in translation. ..LOL again. But despite the title
this thread is intended to be trivia related only and not directly related to you in any way. But I DO get a little satisfaction when you are wrong. LOL.Is your last name Einstein by any chance?

I only tweaked the puzzle a little;

Originally it was in GRIPS (colloquial german for brain) magazine 2009 published by Mensa in Austria
last on this page:
http://www.mensa.at/index.php?menuid=61&reporeid=114
(original task: complete the row)

Ok sid,Give me some examples of external combustion engines.

Like a stirling motor?

basically every heat engine is an external combustion engine, right?
So steam engines too.

oh yeah, add the dots yourself then ;)

Well so I AM allowed to ask questions then?
*gg*
Good to know ;)

Nope my last name is not Einstein,
funny enough it's in the urban dictionary though...
