Just alittle update we have been working on it when we can. Still somewhat sick so it's been hard to get out in the yard and work. I've still got some ideas up my sleeves so it ought to be fun.

Nice... Althought "I" woulda drawn the "dooddle" on paper, then taken it to a vinyl sticker print shop n seen if they could reproduce it w/ metalic colorization... chromatic colors is wut Id pick... That way you can get the same 'exact' decal reproduced a diffent size... but thats just me...

I'm not much of a sticker person. Speed stickers sure but when if comes to fun I like it real. I'm into kustom kulture such as Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, Von Dutch (not the clothing company), Von Franco, Coop and Bob Spina. These guys put the kool in hot rodding. We'll be doing more fun and off kanted stuff like this in the future. I've been pinstriping off and on for a few months. The pictures suck. The colors are actually really kool. I don't care if they rub off after a few hundred trips down the yard. That means I get to pull out my brushes and do something kool again. It is also a lot bigger than the picture presents. Once we put the seat on it will take up a lot of the room above the head. We weren't really worried about a so called "theme". I've seen crappy theme bikes on TV built and never liked them. Although this thing has camouflage it isn't really an army thing. It's sort of a twisted zombie killer robot kind of thing. Nothing to tight just fun. It is his choice. I was going to put white flames on the big foot board and then outline them in red. But he wanted something different. I've still got a bunch more kool ideas for this dude. It's not like we are in a competition. Vinyl is for race cars and guys who need to advertise crap quick. It's for NASCAR. I worked in a sign shop for a while and I grew to hate vinyl. I even help crew a race car locally and even though we do our on vinyl I still want to do my own scheme on the car just one year. Something to really knock their socks off their butts. Lol. Once the paint is gone we can redo it and touch it up if need be. I can shoot a clear over this bad boy if need be. Thanks for the compliments. It's all about having tons of fun.....Still some more kool and whacky ideas in the mix.

That skull, looks odd
too flat, the jaw is too wide the forehead too low ... (I could go on I'm afraid)
So yeah.. no.
I like the idea though.
But for a different kart.. pinstripes on camouflage?

AFAIK Chris Cooper sells decals on his website (he did the last time I lurked)
So maybe you find an option to pimp your ride there ;)
[EDIT]
Oh sorry.. you don't like decals, missed that earlier... forget about that

I'm with Rusty on this one, original, painted artwork is always better than a decal, it just looks better, cleaner if you will, & you can always tell that more work has gone into it.

As for the design itself, it's cool because it's different, it's not meant to look like an actual skull, more like a caricature, a cartoon almost.

Top marks to you rusty

"This" comming from the guy w/ the redheaded, sour-puss, looking avatar...lol

Correct,
I don't want to dis rusty for his doodle,
but it simply isn't appealing (to me that is, I can only judge from MY point of view of course)
I don't want to hold a lecture here of why anatomy is important even for cartoons and comics (sorry.. graphic novels ;))
Let me just put it this way:
this is inside 'my' uncanny valley.

And talking about "vulgar" things.. what's that structure on his head? A cucumber, two plums and some weed.... hmmm

Again, just my own dispensable opinion.

BTW the boy in my avatar made some four figure amount of money for making that face back then... jealous?

I'm not trying to pick any fights... just gonna state a 'fact'...(scrolling up)...I dont 'see' where rusty 'asked' for any opinions.

...Ummm.... pretty sure he's doing the doodle 'just' to distract the eyes from the 'event-less', sand camo pattern.

I 'think' the term for those 'things', is "Filler-art" lil bit like a pattern on a cars front grill...

...not really.

I think it looks kind of like some of the Mexican day of the dead festival art, very cool.
You're right...
didn't take this into consideration.

If that's what you're going for rusty, my apologies.

Yes Sid, we've established, you don't like anything :roflol:
True, very true...
but being a misanthropist sociopath I can't help it ;)
Next time I'll try to use Halfbreeders signature as a rule of thumb, I promise.

(So if I don't answer your threads.. it's because your kart is ugly :roflol:)

Theres a method/art of informing someone that you dont like something of theirs... w/out stepping on toes. 'Some' women use the same art form of dislike towards their husbands n friends. My father 'labeled' the art form 'tact'. He never taught 'tact' to me... but after almost 20 years w/ my wife... Ive somewhat learned 'how' to finagall(shuffle) words to get my 'opinion' across w/out a slap in the face(not litteraly!).

I too have moments where my 'word governor' slips a tooth, or 2-3-4... but the wife taught me where the "cutoff switch" was. Nowadays theres times I find myself 'wanting' to interject my opinionated view(go for a ride around annoying type folks), but I restrain my tongue or there might be a confrontation(KAMIKAZI!!!) lol.

Are we getting off topic now or am I misinterpreting things?

My sincerest apolgies to rusty, I never meant to unwillingly take over your thread with my imprudent words.

So if you have anything to say to ME, send me a PM or start a "poke the sid" off topic thread ;)
